I can't help but envision a really stereotypical flamboyant 80's gay man, with a lisp and Californian accent, he will appear in the adverts and say something like "Don't hit each other silly buns! Just be nice to each other!"
Oh, indeed.wilsonscrazybed said:A good place to start is with The Wire's Omar little [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Little]; he is one of the best characters of the series in my opinion.
Rockstar has always made great characters. I can't say for sure but I doubt they would make a character(especially the main one) with one overly done trait. Look at their great history with main characters and hope the future only gets brighter.miracleofsound said:I really hope that this DLC does not include a bunch of stereotypical flaming queens like Florian/Bernie but actually has some gay characters that are done properly and respectfully with thier gayness as incidental.
There's always Val Kilmer's character [http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0009811/] "Gay Perry" in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.harhol said:You mean "the only place to start"...wilsonscrazybed said:A good place to start is with The Wire's Omar little [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Little]
Rockstar has also always done homophobic protagonists... CJ ripping on OG Loc's homosexual tendencies and Niko being forced to go on a man date to his utter horror spring to mind...Jeronus said:I can see FOX NEWS saying something like," ROCKSTAR encourages kids into homocidal homosexual deviants."

It could be worse. Look at Brucie.miracleofsound said:Rockstar has also always done homophobic protagonists... Both Bernie and French Tom were hand flapping cliches pinker than a Barbie box factory, and from what I saw of Gay Tony in TLATD he won't be much much different.
But yeah, here's hoping.
That game would more likely be seven hours of repeatedly phoning Niko and shouting abuse down the phone at him because he doesn't want to hear you sing Danny Boy drunk for the 200th time.Danhoyt said:I still had my fingers crossed for a game about Packie McReary. He was my favorite character and I always got the sense that he did really cool things when Niko wasn't around like; plan bank robberies, work for the mafia, plan kidnappings, rob people, shoot people, blow shit up and cause a great deal of mayhem on his own.

Thank you, you beat me to it. Omar is hands down one of the best characters of the series, and is pretty unique. However I can see this selling half of what TLATD sold, I mean come now, 360 exclusive DLC that is about a gay character? I'll let you figure out what I'm getting at.wilsonscrazybed said:There are two things that we need from this DLC, a protagonist who isn't just a characicature of his sexual preference, and a story line that is more than 2 dimensional exploration of gay themes.
A good place to start is with The Wire's Omar little [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Little]; he is one of the best characters of the series in my opinion.
What did it fix exactly? I got fed up with GTA4 and decided to not but TLATD, so I'd appreciate you telling me what they managed to patch up...Onyx Oblivion said:Seriously though, Rockstar fixed some of GTA4's core mistakes with TLAD, so this should improve on the game even more.
Well, the main character, Luis, may or may not be gay. The "Gay Tony" of the title is his boss, it seems. The game itself may not even go into any "gay themes," for all we know.wilsonscrazybed said:There are two things that we need from this DLC, a protagonist who isn't just a characicature of his sexual preference, and a story line that is more than 2 dimensional exploration of gay themes.

Well, they gave a few new weapons, bikes are much better to ride, as you don't fall off nearly as much. THIS IS THE BEST THING: They also stopped having people calling you to hang out. Not once did I recieve a call asking about going to a strip club or something like that. You can even see a digital penis!scotth266 said:What did it fix exactly? Does this apply backwards? The things they improved, did they have the original game include them?Onyx Oblivion said:Well, they gave a few new weapons, bikes are much better to ride, as you don't fall off nearly as much. Umm...no. But the added television shows and radio songs do. But the episode is standalone, and can be played without even having a standard "Niko Bellic" mode save file. Just install the expansion and accept the offer to start it...then off you go!scotth266 said:Does this apply backwards? Not so eager about the digiwang, but as long as the answer to my question is yes I'd be willing to take it...
