Next TF2 update announced

After a supposed April fool's prank at the Team Fortress 2 blog hinted at the sniper as the next class to be updated ( http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=2391 ).

But apparently it wasn't all a prank, and the sniper is indeed going to be the next class to get new weapons: http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=2394

It's supposed to be one of the biggest class updates yet, with new maps and gameplay tweaks. No word on whether or not we'll actually get to throw jars of piss at eachother.

They're gonna get so overplayed...I hate it when my favorite class(because it's so underplayed, it's really easy to get a spot as one) gets played a lot...

I suppose I've seen stranger things...but even so, a urine jar as a weapon. The Sniper needs to lay off the coffee.


EDIT: I forgot, I'm going to hate this update because I HATE THE SNIPER. The Sniper is the coward's choice of a class. Even for someone like me, who doesn't mind playing RTS games every now and then, the Sniper is just a really lame class, 'cause all sniping is, at its base, is twitch-shooting but more accurate. And let's face it, if I need to be a twitch-shooter, I'll play a Scout or even a Combat Medic.

Plus all Snipers do is shoot other Snipers and get backstabbed. Or if you're really skilled, crit-rocketed/crit-stickied.

I like the sniper. It's not a cowardly choice if you play in a fun way. I personally prefer to infiltrate the enemies base, picking them off from afar as I sneak in. I suck at it now, though, because I've been playing a lot of pyro and scout.

i spend most of my time sniping medics and heavy combos only take snipers if i get killed by one and do it as revenge i pick my targets on grounds of what will manage to break the line in front of me.
if by "twitch" shooting you mean waiting till i can see my target clearly (unless its a sniper whos aim looks near my face) then shootin then im glad to be one. as another point you dont get back stabed if you take a nice position agaisnt a wall or near a sentry.

i did however only shoot and get back stabed before i manged to stop playing the two fort fest on ps3 (after playing it 1 bijillion times it gets dull

Sweet, I have been playing Sniper a ton. I think it's my 2nd most-played class now. Whenever I get top score by a large margin someone is always there to call BS or try to vote kick me though. ;\

ewwwww, i was reading that update, and they said they were doing 360 updates, which is stupid cause it is a valve game on the console.... valve games are only good on the pc

Guys, I want to plan ahead and tell you to IGNORE THIS POST FOR THE LOVE OF GOOD THREADS AND SANITY PLEASE IGNORE IT!

Now, back on topic - anyone think it's funny that one update is practically a good update for another? Be a heavy on the medic update and you'll always have a medic. Be a pyro on the scout update and you can just hold your fire button, and now spies will be soooo happy to see this sniper update.
