Im just wondering if there are any other NFL fans out there ? If there are, how do you picture next weeks NFL draft going down ?
I'm a displaced Packers fan, myself. I'm more of a sucker for baseball, but I'd go so far to say that I follow sports more closely than I do video games. It is possible to be a total nerd when it comes to sports, you know. As for the draft: Bradford is going first, Suh is going second, and McCoy is going third. No wiggle room -- that's what's going down. Not really sure what the point of discussion is here, but I saw a Packers fan, and naturally, I had to respond.racing fan said:That's what ESPN's for.
on a lesser note;

Try telling that to Brett Farve. You think he played 19 FUCKING SEASONS for money? Of Fucking course not. He truly loves what he does for a job just as every other professional sports player.fluffybacon said:NO.whiston532 said:Im just wondering if there are any other NFL fans out there ? There are not.
And, as such,
IRRELEVANT.
Why do people fucking care about corporate "sports"?
It's not for the love of the game, it's for the love of money.
Money is the monster that can no longer be controlled by it's creator.
People care about "Corporate sports" because we enjoy watching them maybe?fluffybacon said:NO.whiston532 said:Im just wondering if there are any other NFL fans out there ? If there are, how do you picture next weeks NFL draft going down ?

1. Value Over Replacement Player - I don't know how to calculate it, but there's one for pitchers and one for hitters. Basically, it's how much better a player performed for the team than an "average" player they could get from the talent market.D Bones said:1. noxmetatr0nx said:Ok let me test your sport nerdom...mjhhiv said:snippy
1. Do you know what VORP is?
2. Which college team did jerry Rice play for?
3. Does Bo know?
Dont you dare google it son!
2. it was a D-2 school. can't think of which one though.
3. bo knows
So, are you joking, or just bashing the sport or people that may like it in this thread? I would love to hear the reasoning.fluffybacon said:NO.whiston532 said:Im just wondering if there are any other NFL fans out there ? If there are, how do you picture next weeks NFL draft going down ?

Draft is coming up soon, how about an Escapist league on ESPN or something? Not for money obviously, but a ten man league or a couple of them could be great!xmetatr0nx said:Thats just fluffys way...
I almost joined my office league this year...but i opted for MLB fantasy instead. First year too, not going so well. Group would be awesome, we could have a pick em game when the season starts.
I return your salute. I know my place, so I will keep my hand up until you lower yours.xmetatr0nx said:I dont often do this around here, but i salute you! You better not have googled that or i will murder you.PhiMed said:snip
VORP does stand for value over replacement player, as you guys say, but WAR is definitely the more popular stat -- and the more useful one, too. FIP, BABIP... all of that good stuff. How am I supposed to win my fantasy league without them? I will admit that I didn't know what college Rice attended (I was going to guess Rice University. Go Figure. Do they even have a football team?), but I'm definitely a mega baseball nerd. Mozilla is telling me that Fangraphs is one of my most visited websites, so I'd say that is a pretty strong indicator of me being a nerd.xmetatr0nx said:Ok let me test your sport nerdom...mjhhiv said:snippy

Missourian, I take it?TheTim said:I hope Ndakumong Suh Gets drafted first overall. If not, then i hope he gets picked up by the Chiefs. Who are probably going to get Russel Okung From OU
If this does happen, count me in.chronobreak said:Draft is coming up soon, how about an Escapist league on ESPN or something? Not for money obviously, but a ten man league or a couple of them could be great!
Anyone who watched ProStars knows just how much Bo knows.mjhhiv said:Also, Bo knows.

Dan LeFevour. That's who you guys need. Especially since 4 will stick around for who knows how long, that'll give him plenty of time to prepare.toriver said:BTW, I'm a Vikings fan, and we should definitely draft our QB for the future for that inevitable time when Brett Favre will actually retire. What with all the praising him in the media like he's Jesus when he was with the Packers and having to sit through it every time they played the Vikes, I was more than pleased from Day 1 when he joined us... only to then have the media turn on him like he was Satan. Well, he shut them up real fast!!! Sadly, the one big mistake he made in the entire season cost us the Super Bowl. We could have been the Saints, if only that one play could have turned out better. But, that's Viking fandom and has been throughout Vikings history: getting so close to winning it all, only to fall short at the last hurdle. With that said, Favre will be back this year, I'm quite certain of it, but as I said, we need to take a QB now to build for that season when he won't return, which could be as soon as the 2011-12 season.
