Here is a trailer for the PS3 version of Ni No Kuni. Its a game made by Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away) and Level 5 (Professor Layton)

What can I say but: WARRRGARBLELKAJOLWEKAJFOWEJIAFLAKJASKLDFJ

I need this game to be out and in English. Did you see the animation? The little monsters you fight with? the environments? the dragon mount!?!?!?!?! Its like Pokemon, My Neighbor Totoro, and Wind Waker were all part of some sort of freaky genetic experiment.

I need it! My eyes haven't bulged like this for a video game in years!

Somebody get Disney on the phone immediately!

Wow, that looks pretty good, the animation style does look like something from Studio Ghibli

"I'm not playing a game, I'm watching something from Studio Ghibli while pressing buttons on this controller for my amusement."
Pretty much, now I want an english port of it, but its gonna be rare to hear something like that.

It seems unlikely. There was a DS version of the game and that never even made it out of Japan. Which is a real shame because the game came with a spellbook. An actual book that had spells, monster information, etc... Do Want.

Having the pleasure of owning the DS version, its interesting to note that the plotline / level arc looks almost identical. Literally every boss shown (and environment for that matter) you played through in the DS version.

Still, the new combat system and revamped environments (other one was old school rpg style) make me very enthused for this title.

While I think that this game does look absolutely beautiful, and do I hate to be "that guy", I'm not sure if this is going to turn out very well. Animation for movies is completely different from creating scenes in games. In animation the director controls everything that the viewer sees. It is a passive way of storytelling, and one that Ghibli is extremely good at. In a game, however, the player is the one controlling the story and what is happening on screen to a large extent. Short of yanking control away from the player with cutscenes, I'm not sure that Ghibli is going to do anything that couldn't be expressed in a movie.
Level 5 does make some good games, so they might be able to work well with them and fix it up a bit, but I'm not sure that they can truly turn it into a true interactive experience.
The game could be absolutely incredible, but there are many obstacles to get through.

I no longer have a PS3, but I would get one to play this game with. Sure, I'd then be able to play Heavy Rain again, but this would be taking up most of my time.

Yeah, but that's Nintendo. And we all know how they feel about releasing games like this.

Perhaps Sony'll be different then Nintendo.

This seems to be a perfect example of the WTFBRAINFUCK that Ghibli throws at me. I can never tell what the hell is going on.

I don't even have a PS3 or really like JRPGs that much, but I want that (to come out in English) as much as any other game I'm looking forward to - almost more.

Though I really only want to watch it...
