Short story, my router / connection is a heap of shit which means connecting to the internet can be a very rare thing indeed. Which makes playing PC games on Steam a bloody nightmare.
Not to worry, Steam has a helpful offline mode that let's you play games without being connected to the internet!
Does it? Because 9 times out of 10 I click the 'Start in offline mode' a bubble comes up smugly saying
"Could not connect to steam network, this could be due to a problem with your internet etc. etc."
I DON'T FUCKING WANT TO GO ON STEAM NETWORK BECAUSE I'M NOT EVEN ONLINE! Why does it insist on taking me to fucking Steam network when I have specifically instructed it NOT to bother!?!
Garhghh
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated before I shoot up a school.
