Fun Fact, Billboard is hardly an accurate representation of a bands quality as it is an effective tool to see how popular something is. It is inarguable that Nickelback sold plenty of albums, and got a lot of radio play, but to say that this reflects the overall quality of the music just strikes me as silly. What if people were to say that about the spice girls? Or Poison?Chipperz said:I love that everyone's going "I wouldn't have voted for Nickleback! I'd have voted for [Band I've never heard of]!"
Fun fact, if the band you like hasn't managed to make it's way into the public consciousness, chances are it's not that great. If you like them, brilliant, don't let me stop you, just remember, more people than you have to like them to make them band of the decade.
I don't know, I love Dark Horse.DuplicateValue said:I don't like their new stuff, but their old stuff is brilliant. It went downhill from All The Right Reasons.
But I guess if it wasn't them, who would it have been?
It could have been much worse.
Those don't even blend, let alone sound the same! Next time, pick a less FAIL video.ThePoodonkis said:This is all I have to say on the matter. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2pXfAK8r1k]
Whats so bad about Nickelback ?darthzew said:I'm writing this post with incredible agony and pain. Billboard has just named Nickleback as "Band of the Decade".

Any faith in humanity I may have garnered in these last ten years is gone.
Well, what are your thoughts? Is Billboard onto something? Or are they really just that stupid?
EDIT: A little humor to relieve the pain:

EDIT EDIT: I read a second source and this one's a bit clearer about how they came up with this. It turns the list came from sales figures. This only hurts my faith in humanity even more.

*Raises hand* I used to sing along to the Spice Girls when I was a sprog, and I like Poison...Thunderhorse said:Fun Fact, Billboard is hardly an accurate representation of a bands quality as it is an effective tool to see how popular something is. Nickleback perfectly encapsulates everything that is wrong with radio music today by being as 100% bland, cookie cutter, and awful as possible.almightywabbit said:I like Nickelback, despite the songs the chav's like.
Whats wrong with 'em?
They are good for you, if you like them. It's personal opinion, really. But could you say that they are the band of the decade? If you do, than i'm really sorry.tomtom94 said:Nickelback, Green Day. Mob says they're good, thus they've become "cool to hate".
Me? I like both bands because they do catchy music.
