As well as being a gamer, I am a fighting afficionado and (shitty) amateur boxer. Last night, I watched UFC 108 on PPV (uncivilized as it is, it's fun to watch). While watching, I noticed two fighters with interesting nicknames: "Suga" Rashad Evans and Sam "Hands of Stone" Stout.
The first one doesn't surprise me. You can't throw a rock without hitting some fighter nowhere near Robinson's caliber with that nickname, but the second surprised me, particularly from a fighter with a just over 3-to-1 win/loss ratio. He is nowhere near Roberto Duran, and it got me thinking whether legendary nicknames should be like jerseys: retired or, at the very least, earned the hard way.
What do you think?
