"split/Second is what Michael Bay would make, if Michael Bay made racing games."

That makes me want to have absolutely nothing to do with this game, even though he doesn't have anything directly to do with this, Bay is the DEFINITION of ALL that is shit about cinema, and saying this game is in any way Bay-like might as well come with a "Douchebag approved" label.

I'm sorry, but there needs to be an addition to Godwin's law to include comparing any entertainment product to the work of that brainless hack known as Michael Bay.

Split/Second is made by the same hacks that churned out "Pure" and "moto GP 07" and they made this game in only 18 months... my magic eight ball tells me All Signs Point To FAIL!

Blur on the other hand seem like it is actually FUN from the guys who made the PGR series and Geometry Wars, they at least have proven that they can make fun driving games. From what I hear Blur is like PGR crossed with Mario Kart = win.

....it's no carmageddon, so i wont play it. It will keep the masses entertained for an hour or 2....just like a Michael Bay movie. After that people will want to take a bath. I called it!

Having seen this game in action at PAX East, to have it compared to dreck like what Michael Bay puts out is an insult. And said insult has now already caused people to pre-judge this game to hilarious levels the likes of which haven't been seen since the ill-advised L4D2 boycott.

Heh. I usually steer clear of racing games (see what I did there?), but this one does look interesting. Split/Second goes on my rental list.
And as for the Michael Bay comparison... I don't like many of his movies, but the guy does know how to make shit blow up and create mindless, enjoyable action.

Arcade racers are really the only racers I'm into (Motorstorm and Burnout FTW), so I may look into this one. I'll wait for reviews and player response though, just to be safe.
