Well this reminds me of the first time I saw Alan Cumming, which was in the TV series "The High Life" about a Scottish airline.

Since it's almost Eurovision time, heres a classic clip...

What I want to know, is why Youtube considers Nine Inch Nails' Bit the Hand that Feeds a related video?

Back to the topic at hand:
Wife loves musicals.
Wife loves Marvel.
Wife loves U2.
Wife loves Alan Cumming. (wait, that doesn't sound right)
Wife likes Julie Taymor.

So there's at least two tickets sold.

BTW, to all the doubters out there, Julie Taymor was responsible for the Lion King, which is sold out for the next three years. Doesn't mean this'll work, necessarily, but the odds are good.

A Spider-Man... musical? How could this possibly work? And what the hell could they have spent $40 million on? It's a stage show, for God's sake!
People told Mel Brooks that The Producers would never work as a broadway musical. Now look where we are.

If my exposure to theater has taught me anything, its that there is no such thing as a bad concept. The right director can make magic (a friend of mine, John Bell, makes a living transposing Shakespeare into modern Australian settings. He's currently one of the most respected directors in the country). Even if the entire ordeal will probably cause some very disturbing flashbacks to Spider-Man 3 in the audience...OK, I'm seeing the problem now.
John Bell? As in the Bell Shakespeare company? You know him?
Neat.

Well....I mean it is Alan Cumming. If theres a person on Earth who could bring the crap factor down to a bearable level it's him. And from what I'm reading the director seems top notch too.

Hey, HEY...Let's just all agree that they all ruled, and get back to hating Hugh Jackman.

And who knows, it could turn out to be a great musical, worst case is you have a memory of Spiderman that isn't Spiderman 3 *shudders* the horror, the emo?!?!

I get horrible pictures in my head of people on stage singing "Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can."...
You know it will happen.
It'll be the encore, and the whole cast will be joined at the elbow, can-can-ing on the offbeat.

How about Spider-Man: The Musical: The Game? That would be disturbing...

OT

he could work better at the green goblin than the guy from SM3. just my thoughts.

oh, and why do directors not under stand that money doesnt always equal goodness?

But so crazy it could work...

I don't know what to think; at first I thought what most thought who'd posted on the thread (as in, 'wait, what!?'). But crazier things have worked on stage, so I'll reserve judgement, I think...
