I've been rewatching old simpsons episodes, and for the hell of it, I jumped ahead to one of the horror episodes that HAUNTED me as a child. I just re-watched it, and well, sure it's tame now for a 22 year old but I can TOTALLY understand why I was afraid of this, especially the ending with them falling into the blades... And then the moment later with the mysterious fog that turns people inside out.

Anyone else get spooked by this particular story as a kid? Or another story from the Treehouse series?

I was always spooked by that one where technology went nuts and the world like, blew up. I've always had a fear of death and/or the end of the world, so that's why...

The one with the Neutron Bomb always interested me. (Treehouse VIII: The HΩmega Man?) I've had a fascination with post-apocalyptic stuff since I was a small child, barely capable of recognizing what it really meant.

That, and the rendition of "The Raven," narrated by James Earl Jones. Instant Poe fan after I saw that 'sode.

But was I ever spooked by any of them? Not particularly. They're far too funny to traumatize me.

No. The thing that gave me nightmares as a child was a particular episode of the X-Files. The one with the Indian guy who wheeled himself around on the palette.

Wow. He's the Oompa Loompa from the new Charlie and the Chocolate factory movie, isn't he?

Urgh, that freaked me out.
The worst part that, even all those years ago, I was angry with them because dropping meat, skin and bones 'n all would be terrible for the appliance and more than difficult to deal with in any recipe.
...
OK, yeah, the worst part was seeing them being brutally murdered. I had just flipped onto that channel, and I thought if it wasn't Itchy and Scratchy, then it wouldn't be bad. >.>
