I only get nightmares when I take a certain medication. I've been off it for a while so I don't get nightmares.
What kind of medication? Sounds like something I'd like to try out >:D

I very rarely have nightmares anymore... I discovered along time ago that if i forced myself to stay in any nightmare i was having, things always wound up turning out okay.

The one exception to this is... I periodically have a dream about an Ex-girlfriend of mine. I don't know how to explain them, like...

One morning i started having a dream (right after we broke up) that we were back together, and we were SO happy, yet all through the dream she would break down and cackle evilly at random points.. Suddenly i woke up, and realized i was 30 minutes late for work... With the evil laughter, it was like she KNEW she was screwing me over..

I've had other dreams like that, where it's like she's trying to get me in trouble. I'm lying in bed, asleep next to my wife, and started having a dream that i was having sex with the ex, and in the dream she's telling me "call my name. Call my name." and i was THIS close to doing it, and then i woke up to find that my wife was still awake reading next to me in bed..

I swear this girl must be praciticing black magic on me, or something, cause the stuff that happens in dreams with her are downright scary!

My nightmares have never had werewolves in them. A few big snakes though.

Haven't had one in a very long time.

Afraid not. I regularly have nightmares and after a while they all blend into each other. The ones that stand are the ones where I don't want to sleep afterwards.

I'd tell you about mine, but seeing as how they all invariably wind up in my death and the deaths of everyone important to me.....

One time I had a dream where I was walking down my street at night. For some reason I was on my neighbour's outside garbage can (dreams are wierd), and then a car drove by and started shooting at me. I started running back to my house and I was just about to run up the steps to my door when I woke up. I'm pretty sure that if you die in your dream, you wake up.

My friend has had a dream where he was tied to railroad tracks, and Thomas the Tank Engine was barrelling towards him. Instead of his smiling face, he had an angry face with red eyes. As soon as he was about to get hit, he woke up.

I've also had a recurring dream where I am at the top of the staircase in my house, and I jump off the top step, and everything goes in slow motion. As soon as I'm about to hit the ground, I wake up.

I've never had a dream that I could control, but I'm pretty sure that I've had dreams in which I knew it was a dream, but I still couldn't control it.

Most alarming nightmare I can think of:

I used to work in a furniture factory, and for a couple of weeks I was stationed well within smelling distance of an enormously fat man who apparently had some kind of patological aversion against showers. His body odor was indescribably terrible. It was like an actual PHYSICAL barrier around him.

I'm not joking. I'm not exaggerating. The only thing I have encountered in my life, that smelled slightly worse, was a beer bottle filled with dead, rotting mice and wriggling maggots.

It was so intense that a couple of times during this period, the man and his smell came to haunt me in a nightmare. Yeah. I had nightmares about the man's smell. The worst part of it was that the nightmare consisted only of myself, in my usual workplace, choking on that pungent smell - EXACTLY as I was already doing all DAY!

That smell was SO nasty, even a nightmare couldn't make it any worse!

(As luck would have it, the man was actually COMMANDED (Repeatedly!) by the boss to go and take a shower - and, I shit you not, he got fired for refusing to do it!)

My nightmares are usually pretty scary, but I can usually control my dreams so that I survive.

Example: Shortly after purchasing BioShock, I had a dream that I was in BioShock, except that Rapture was a floating city in the sky instead of at the bottom of the ocean. Oh, and it was called Eden. But everything else was still BioShock: ADAM (called LIFEBLOOD), the Plasmids (called Powers), the Splicers (called Bleeders), the Little Sisters (called Angels), and the Big Daddies (called Devils).

As I walked through the city, I was attacked by a horde of 20 Bleeders and had no pistol ammo to kill them with. Faced with death, I was freaking out until I remembered: hold on, isn't this a dream? And I remembered: yes, it is. So I simply stared at a garbage can, imagined it holding a shotgun and 40 shells, then searched the can and preso! Behold a shotgun and 40 shells sitting there. The horde of Bleeders was quickly dispatched.

That happens alot with my dreams. I think it's a defense mechanism against death. Because I can't do it all the time, or for trivial things, but only when I'm in a life-threatening situation.

Well it wasn't really a nightmare because I wasn't scared during the dream but now that I think about it, it was really messed up.

All I remember from my dream was two skeletons having sex. Right before they would start the male would be like "cmon cmon sex sex sex" like wanting it badly and the female would be bored and not wanting to, then as soon as they start the male would start saying "This is it, wow your boring" and the female would start enjoying it.

Very, very, very messed up.

I've had worse nightmares. One nightmare I had that wasn't bad just really weird was me getting chased by my mom with a machete, Jason Voorhees style.

I don't have nightmares just weird dreams.

One comes to mind:
I'm captain of a small scout ship surveying new worlds for some interplanetary government.
We find a habitable planet with near perfect conditions, a paradise world.
There are no signs of civilization or intelligent life so I decide to set down.
We land in a lush green grassland. As me and 4 crewmen leave the ship and look around we see some structures on the top of a hill. We wonder how our scan had missed these. As we get closer we see two structures. One is a chrome circle supported on three rods stuck into the ground at a 45 degree angle. the other is a 30 foot tall chrome spike upwards from the ground. Halfway up the spike are three objects orbiting. A cylinder a rod and a paper airplane shaped object.
We cannot figure out what is suspending them. I order the ship to do another scan but it again turns up nothing. I stare at the spike for a minute and when I turn around and standing under the circle are two aliens. They are silent 7 feet tall humanoids wearing muted orange body gloves. They have blue skin, large green eyes with no pupils, elongated skulls no nose or nostrils and wide lip less mouths. they approach me and stand next to the spike. As they stand there staring at me and my men the three objects begin to move in different complex patterns up and down and in strange paths. The aliens are the ones facilitating this. suddenly I understand how to control these objects and they begin flying in patterns I choose. The next thing I know I wake up (in the dream not in real life.)on the ground and realize I had blacked out. It is nighttime but there are no stars in the sky and the sky itself is dark blue. everyone else is asleep. suddenly I feel something clench my arm. I turn and one of the aliens is grabbing my arm while the other one watches. They have changed. Their fingers are longer with talons sprouting from their fingertips, their eyes are deep red and the one grabbing me has his mouth open revealing rows of needle sharp teeth. He tries to bight me and I strike out screaming. It is thrown back allowing me to grab my gun. Everyone wakes up alarmed. there is a flash of blue light from the circle and the aliens disappear. I realize if I had not woken up all of us would be dead. We search the immediate area but find nothing. I order an immediate lift off and we run back to the ship. As we pull away from the surface I look out the window to see the two aliens staring up at me looking normal again except for red eyes. As we break orbit I send a report declaring the planet uninhabitable.
then I woke up and the arm the alien had clutched was numb.
