Why are you judging it on looks alone though? Surely, if you're a DMC fan, then you will be happy as long as the core gameplay is similar or better.
That's why I said it....It weeds out the "They changed Dante! I hate this already even though Ive not played it" from the "As long as it plays the same"
You also need to remember the game is set BEFORE the first DMC. So that's before he had his girly white hair and typical JRPG style look. Its meant to be more "down to earth" and "human" in character than wholey unbelievable like the rest of them
Right, sorry if I'm curt with you, but I just spent quite a bit of effort on a lengthy and deep reply which I lost to a browser crash, so I'm not in the best of moods.
Basically, you are the one who is making sweeping and completely unfounded statements. "Best in the series"? Don't make me laugh. I can see however, by your use of the "girly" and "typical JRPG" that you didn't care for the style of the previous games. Thus, we are a different type of fan. You are there for the gameplay. I'm there for the complete package, and how it comes together.
Also, I'm hardly a shallow hater judging merely by the trailer, don't lump me in with that crowd. Look at the signs: Ninja Theory (mediocre developer at best), trolling the fanbase for free publicity (or they're saying they were doing that to cover up for a marketing blunder), and the constant stream of BS that is their press releases and interviews.
Also, your arguments show ignorance of the original lore, just like Ninja Theory. Dante has always had white hair. Dante as a more "believable" or "grounded" character is not the Dante we know and love, it is not Dante. Also, there's plenty of depth to him as written by Kamiya if you pay attention to the backstory and fill in some blanks.
