I really don't see the tablet comparison with the 2DS, which means the 1DS' joke of looking like a phone is ineffective as a form of comedy to me.
As far as I can see, the 2DS has two notable flaws; its stupid name and the lack of any screen protection, the former being almost irrelevant to the actual quality of the handheld and the latter being easily remedied by using the $40 you save to buy a case of some sort.
Button placement and the shape of the device deserve honorable mention but I'll have to wait till I actually hold the damned thing before I decide for sure whether there actual faults or just awkward differences.
I really hope this site was made just for the "lols." There's something I find irritating about jokes like this and I would hate to think people would take this seriously in such a way.
As for whether or not I would buy the 1DS if it were real?
I probably would not buy a 1DS because it would be too gimped. The 2DS rids itself of the not at all necessary 3D and offers the same experience for a cheaper price and is put in a more durable package. The 1DS is too small and looks frail. Forget little kids breaking it, I would probably crack the screen when tossing it in my drawer. With it being nothing but a little rectangle it wouldn't support my hands very well and it would be hard to switch from the D-pad to the circle-pad, as well as the ABXY buttons to the Start/Select buttons. With the 2DS I could keep my palms at the bottom, index fingers at the top, and my thumbs comfortably in the middle.
