This probably would fit the gaming forums as well, but I'll just play it safe and post at off topic..
Anyway, the specs.
I find the frame buffer size rather odd, and I'd bet it's actually 4096x4096 (or 4k by 4k) maximum. This doesn't mean that the 3ds has a 4k by 4k screen, but that the chip can render to such a surface. Higher resolution render targets are important for shadow maps for instance.
Otherwise the chip looks like a decent OpenGL 1.x / directx7 -class piece, so no pixel shading here, with a few additional tricks - I have no idea what the gaseous objects are, or how they're implementing refraction mapping..
But overall it looks like something one would like to work with. Assuming there's enough video memory, of course..
