I think the case is that in Feb 2015 people who have registered both games on Club Nintendo get him for free whereas people who haven't registered both will most likely have to pay for him.

Not only is Nintendo the only major developer keeping couch co-op around, but they're also innovating and pushing the envelop. This is awesome.

Mewtwo aside, this was the big one for me. It's just... So damn beautiful...

Fuck. This looks amazing, especially stage creator, jesus H christ. It's pretty much the ultimate tech demo. Only thing I'm kind of missing is the story mode, buttttt it looks to be a beastly multiplayer experience.

True! I never really figured that Smash Bros. music would be something that I'd listen to, but it is a Cool Thing To Have.

OK This is ridiculous!!!
Not only is there a crapton of stuff to play single player and co-op, there's an up to 8 man free for all start hating your friends mode NAD ONLINE!!! And in online we have a tournament mode...
This means for us in the WiiU Online Multiplayer user group on this site won't need ot manually do anything, it's already there
This will be so awesome, will it be a bit too much though?

With all compared it feels a little bare on the 3ds.


I'd at least like some more smash battle custom rules if anything.

I was a bit skeptical about the Wii U handling 8 players at a 1080p/60fps standard but according to a few people who've played it they experienced no noticeable drops. Of course we'll have to wait for the Digital Foundry review to really 'see.'

I don't have a Wii-U yet, but 8 player battles? GameCube controller support? My wallet is trembling in fear. Looks like I'll be mooching off my roommates for food in exchange for Smash Bros.

And BTW, to all you people saying that it's unfair that you seemingly can only get Mewtwo if you own both versions, I'm sure they'll release him and other characters in a package. Nintendo has been good with DLC and DLC value, at least in Mario Kart. That being said,I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo gives all the DLC characters (and maybe stages some day?) to owners of both games for free anyway. The way I see it, buying the 3ds would be like buying a seasonal pass, only you get an entire portable version of the game.

Gee, back in my day, all you got for buying Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion was a costume and a twenty year old game.
