Well, who really talks about Nintendo after E3 press conferences anyways? Most of the discussion value regarding the WiiU last year came from Nintendo Direct, with E3 really just serving to further the advertising. Besides, E3 is so ingrained in Shooty McShootshoot action games that it hardly is a fit for Nintendo, but, then again, their lack of traditional shooter franchises might be just what the conference needs. Still, even when they brought something other than shooters last year, no one seemed to care. Not to mention, E3 hasn't been too popular among gamers lately. If Nintendo can announce things in a much more enjoyable fashion for gamers, then I'd say that is a good thing.
Also, am I the only one who doesn't even watch E3 anymore? I just look up any announcements and then use YouTube to watch what I'm actually interested in. If something I missed becomes popular, then I look it up as well.
