Nintendo DS Advice Needed!!

For my birthday this year, I am getting a DS. First of all, is it worth payin the extra £50 for the DSi or should i go for the DS Lite?

Secondly, I have reached the age of 19 without ever owning a games console. Can anyone recommend any games to get (preferably with minimal murdering)???

Welcome to the escapist first of all, I'd go for the DSi, although I am one of those nut-jobs who are actually thinking of buying a DSi when I already have a lite.
As for games, The legend of Zeldahantom hourglass is amazing and really utilises the system's features and New super Mario bros is old-school but loads of fun none the less.

Well it really depends if you think that the extra features of the DSi are worth it or not.

But I heard that the backwards compatibility is getting removed from the DSi and being replaced with some sort of Steam so you can buy the previous Gameboy games...or something like that.
