I find it strangely disconcerting that the North American and European people are deciding to stand at odds to each other. It isn't about NA gamers being entitled whiners and Europe being long suffering. It's about the company having business practices that the consumers consider unfair (whether that's true or not isn't the point; the companies success is based on how it is perceived, not how it actually performs). Gamers on both sides of the Atlantic need to fight for each other.

Take this case, for instance. Europe would benefit from having more people demanding fairer treatment, and America would benefit from sales of the Rainfall trio making localization more likely.

Bottom line: we're in this together, guys.
Well, the problem is, Americans never really helped us... If anything when we moaned about releases, we just got moaned at or gloated at by certain people, without any help what so ever. So it's no wonder europeans end up doing the same thing. Not saying it's right or anything, but yeah. :/

No it doesn't. I see Europe getting special editions that other regions don't get with awesome stuff in them and games before other regions all the time. Just because you don't pay enough attention to game releases doesn't mean it's rare that Europe gets a better deal.
Gee, fantastic, we get some special editions that most probably won't buy anyway. That totally makes up for the hundreds of games I either didn't get to play, or alternatively had to mess around importing and hacking my consoles to get round region locking.

If these are any good i might get a Value Wii just to play them. The fact that it might help fellow RPG fans across the pond is a nice bonus.

EDIT: Just checked out all 3 games, tomorrow i get a Wii+Xenoblade :D

I will definitely have to give these games a look, I feel bad for American gamers who want this. As a European I should probably be happy that I'm not getting overlooked for once like all the other European gamers but I just wish unfair treatment when it comes to localisation would stop for everyone.

You can't see it, but I'm laughing my arse off right now.

No really, it's great to see the US get screwed by game publishers for a change.

I've ordered Xenoblade Chronicles, hopefully it will arrive tommorow.

I'll shall see how interesting these other two games are closer to release.
It's a different type of being screwed over, though. Europe gets screwed over by getting games released later for no reason. This is a case of the games not being released at all. And really, why take joy at someone being screwed over in the first place? It's not like we laugh or gloat about the late European releases. Well, the vast majority of us, anyways - being the internet there are undoubtedly a few jerks that do so. But surely you don't consider yourself to be their European counterpart?
I had to import Chrono Trigger from the US in 1995.

That game wasn't officially released in Europe until 2009

You tell me.

I know that's an extreme example, but the cumalative amount of Europe being screwed over by release dates surely amounts to one or two games not showing up in America at all.
Remember that one time when Kingdom Hearts 2 was released in March of 2006?

I don't, I bought it on the day it came out in Europe.

In September.

I honestly think the games will probably fail. Europe has always been light in the RPG market and on top of it, the games are being pursued by a vocal minority, not a large segment of customers.

We'll see though. I personally am a member of the vocal minority that really wants to see these out here.
plus it says 2012 and if it comes out around the time of mass effect 3 or any other big names in 2012 then there's no hope for it ever being in america
What the hell are you talking about? One game is wii eclusive the other one is xbox360 exclusive , they wont affect each other even if they are released the 1st day. That and you assuming everyone loves ME and will buy it on release, i will beg to differ with the way EA/bioware are threating sequels right now , ALOT ( too many even ) will wait to see if they mess up ME3 ( i really hope they dont ) before buying it.

For the love of all that is good, Europe, please buy Xenoblade. Read the stellar reviews, dust off your Wii, and purchase the game.

don't twist my posts into your mass effect hate I was saying that it's a big name title that could end up over-shadowing this game it's already gonna end up a little over shadowed because of being on the wii but if a big name comes in then there's gonna be even less (then there's removing the casuals from the wii demographic) would you have preferred if I said a different game? because the outcome will be the same if the name's big enough
and I was not saying that people are gonna buy it day one plus just because someone says they're not buying day one doesn't always mean they're not

While it's smart to wait for the consumer response, I'd still say that with Nintendo of Europe doing all the translating for them, it wouldn't be that costly to bring them to the US right now. Still, as a European, I'll take any chance I get gloating over you Americans with your $60 dollar games. Here they cost well over $100..
You forgot to mention they usually get delayed releases and that's if they release at all. I'll take any chance to gloat and if I hear any Americans complains, I ATTACK. They get more than enough. They don't get to complain.
*shakes head disapprovingly* Sad. Juvenile. "I've suffered, therefor anyone else's suffering is meaningless." Grow up.

I may be American, but this statement has nothing to do with our nationalities. It has to do with you being a hateful, spite-driven man.
Besides. Under your logic... $100 dollar video games? Atleast you have food! There are people starving elsewhere! You don't get to complain about ANYTHING!

Gonna wait a bit like I did with Xenoblade, but might well get them all since I don't have enough Wii JRPGs.

Also, finally a lucky break for Australians, though it does suck for the Americans, and I feel for you guys a lot. I've had to skip over games due to exorbitant pricing, but I don't really know how it feels to get permanently denied a game I've heard is incredibly awesome...

I hope Reggie gets fired. Along with anyone else in Nintendo of America that's keeping these games from coming out over here. There's no excuse.
Anyways, good job Nintendo of Europe. Who's the guy in charge over there? Maybe he can replace Reggie.

Agreed.

Sometimes I think the entire us gaming community is populated by whiney little ***** boys in need of some serious bullying, like a darned good hiding or something.

As soon as its even suggested a game is getting released in europe sooner, they start crying, nashing teeth wailing and behaving like spoiled little children. "Because america isn't getting it first, the publishers must hate america, lets boycott their goods!!!"

Good grief!

It may lose them money, but more publishers should just ignore america altogether, better yet lets get all the games they want and taunt them over the internet for fun....

Once the crybabys are humbled then they can start having games like good children.
To be honest, my concern is with Nintendo of America's attitude, and their lack of a release date for these games.

I can see your point, but you're missing the issue entirely. Its not weiather or not America will get the games before or after Europe. Its if we'll get them at all.

And people who wish for the suffering of others, especially 'others' that steryotype an entire nation, don't have any right suggesting 'discipline' of any kind.

America has its own share of being screwed. I'm sorry Europe is screwed to such a great degree, but punishing America for it wouldn't solve anything. This level of bitter hatred is.....its repulsive. Why can't we all just get along? We're all gamers, and we all enjoy our games? Why must we, the consumers, be pitted against eachother.

WE are not the stupid ones who keep games out of regions. We are but the recipients. The ones we should be railing against are the producers. The various branches of the three major corporations who think that any one region simply doesn't want some form of game or another.

Thank you for the kind words (and the hug) :), I'd like to think that localisation is something that all gamers support each other on, regardless of region.

Just to say to anyone still uncertain as to wether or not to buy Xenoblade...I bought a Wii just to play it and i have no regrets whatsoever. Buy a copy and you will...

1) have one of the best JRPGs of all time (IMO) to play and
2) you might just help convince NoA to publish it and the other two games.

Wow lots of hate over America getting games faster then Europe, you're hate is mislead since it's the publishers that deserve your vile and not the American Fanbase. It's just easier for publishers to make returns on investments when it comes to bringing over a game to America, Europe is a shaky market and thus get games later, but due to the economic downturn and the falling dollar its economically sound to release a game in Europe instead of America (or at least in Nintendo's eyes).

So if you don't like America getting games faster grow your local fanbase, start gaming conventions, or just start your own publishing company and bring over games. Your jealously over the American game market is about as useful as the last two world wars you guys started.
Excuse me? "We" didn't start anything. Pretty much anyone involved is those two world wars are either dead or very very very old now.

Your racism against Europans are about as useful as...well to be honest it isn't really useful at all.
