Fuck Nintendo, i'm not going to buy a turd even if that turd only costs $2 a month.

They really need to make that game/month thing permanant
Actually I think they should do a Netflix style thing with it. Instead of 1-3 freebies a month, you have access to the whole damn library. Give it a limit for downloaded items, but a nice high one like 10 games that you can keep and go back to as much as you want as long as your subscription is active, can swap them out (but keep your saves) at any time and being a subscriber nets you a discount of say 10% if you decide to buy any of the titles.

Why am I having flashbacks to the Playstation 3 launch?
In the PS3's defense, at least it had a Blu-Ray player. Switch doesn't even have Netflix.
You know I honestly can't see any reason for outrage about that. People who buy it will largely be divided into the camps of Nintendo fans (who won't care), early tech/gaming adopters (who will already have 5+ devices to run Netflix and related services) or more mainstream households who'll have a TV or BluRay player for Netflix.

And as omissions go, Netflix is at least software so the solution is simple.

I haven't been paying any attention as I still have no interest but is that phone app thing implying what I think it is? In order to talk to people or party up, you have to use your phone?

I have to be misunderstanding that...right? Even Nintendo wouldn't do something that baffling...right? Guys? Right!?!?

Yes, totally agree! If they had a full back catalog of classic games available i'd pay $10+ a month for access to that.

Also, doesn't anyone else think it's kind of weird that the charging for online services won't be immediate? I mean... that just seems weird, doesn't it? Don't get me wrong; I don't think there's anything wrong with paying for online services if it means smoother, faster, and more secure connections, but I think it's a little misleading to not lead with the service at launch. Could have something to do with the fact that most of the titles that will actually utilize the service will be coming out around then, but I dunno. Just feels off.
Building an install base. Kind of like how Halo 2 came with a 2 month trial card inside for Xbox LIVE.
Ah, I can get behind that. Makes sense if the eventual services are properly advertised in that manner.

I've been doing some thinking, and I think I actually like the fact that the games are only available for a month

I've had a PS Plus subscription, and I've downloaded a lot of games that I thought "Looks interesting, I'll play it eventually. ' But I never play those fucking games. Ever.

If I download Earthbound and I have it forever, I will never ever play it, because I have shiny new games to play

But if I have it for a month, it's now a challenge. I damn sure am gonna play it and beat it in that month
