Nintendo's E3 Event Takes Place on June 13, Focuses on Super Mario Odyssey

This year's Nintendo E3 digital event will focus on games releasing in 2017, specifically Super Mario Odyssey.

Nintendo has just released some key details on its plans for this year's E3, which as usual include a digital event, and a Treehouse livestream. This year, the digital event will take place on June 13 at 9AM PT, focusing on Nintendo Switch games releasing in 2017, with a special focus on Super Mario Odyssey.

Immediately after this spotlight, a Nintendo Treehouse livestream will begin, where Nintendo presenters will play upcoming Switch and 3DS titles.

Additionally, Nintendo will feature two tournaments at its E3 booth this year: the Splatoon 2 World Inkling Invitational and the ARMS Open Invitational. They will take place on June 13 and 14.

Nintendo has also announced that Super Mario Odyssey will be fully playable at E3, which this year, for the first time ever, is open to the public [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/169497-E3-Opens-its-Doors-to-the-General-Public].

I'm definitely tuning into that live! Mario is literally the only reason I (normally) get Nintendo Consoles at Launch, and Mario Odyssey looks the closest to a proper Mario 64 Sequel since Sunshine!

I hope we do get some meat about other titles being released this year. Shin Megami Tensei, Dragon Quest 11, Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces then maybe some other RPG's.

More information about if the "Tales of" game is gunna be a port or a new game.

Maybe more about Octopath Traveller or Pokemon "Stars", though those both seem like 2018 games at least.

More focus on the 2017 release? I thought we got plenty from the switch release session, I wanted to see more on that which was only announced to be "in development" and the obvious xenoblade 2 is not coming in 2017 statement because come the fuck on that's just not happening.

Any word on a new Smash Brothers? Or a port of Smash 4?

Please?
I would imagine a port of Smash 4 would be far more likely.

It'll just be "Super Smash Bros. for Switch" and likely include all the DLC characters/stages much like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

E3 used to be open to the public. So it's more like "for the first time in several years."

I get the feeling with this game that Nintendo is once again going to pull the rug out from under those who were screaming "SANDBOOOOOOX!" for the next Mario game just like they did for those who claimed Skyrim with a Zelda skin would be a good idea. With BotW basically roundhouse kicking any competition for the year it'll be interesting to see what Mario Odyssey does for Nintendo's lineup.

Bah I hope for them that there will be at least one, considering the olds E3, we don't must expect much.
But I hope that Nintendo will surprise us with a game that is not expected at all !!!
