Was considering posting in the old thread, but decided to just make a new one. Anyway, E3 is underway and Koei-Tecmo has given an update on their Dark Souls meets samurai game Nioh. Firstly there's the new trailer showcasing plot elements, new enemies, a new Guardian Spirit, and new weapons such as a Tanegashima rifle and paired swords:

Some old news from a few weeks ago are the balance changes that will be added due to feedback from the Alpha. Some big ones are altering gameplay balance in the starting section, expanding item shortcuts, and removing the durability system. More details are here:

As for those who couldn't get in on the Alpha, KT has also announced a Beta that will be released in August. Supposedly the game's release date was leaked for October 28, but we'll see how that sticks. Definitely one of the games I'm keeping an eye on for E3 and am looking forward to the Beta and full release.

removing the durability system
This would be wonderful as it was my biggest gripe with the demo it was just annoying tbh and an extra layer that was unneeded. Having looked at the details it seems like they may be making the game easier (because of Asia?) which if they do I hope they do it smartly I dont want it to become another slash em up. Also with improving the visuals ok fine but it better not come at the expense of frame rate or if it does give us a choice as responsiveness is way more important than pretty visuals in this game.

Better UI and more item shortcuts are very welcome however.

Although I am not hyping myself up for the game or indeed any game this is one I am looking forward to and want to play more of. Wish the protagonist was not so bland but im just being picky.

Hated the durability system but loved the difficulty. Was only able to give it a go for about an hour but I thought it was defiantly a game I will pick up when it comes out but I will be disappointed if it turns easy.
