No Civilians Will Die in Battlefield 3

I'm surprised people care so much, some even getting outraged, all over practically nothing.

"It's the principle of the matter, even if I wouldn't kill them." So? Do you really care that much that they omitted civilians? With or without, the net impact made on the game by civilians is nothing. I don't even know why they're being mentioned. I had absolutely no expectation of civilians being in the game.

Ah, even war has to be sanitised. Wouldn't want our little adults learning that guns kill people, would we?

Are they specifically trying to destroy Battlefield?
Hmmm ....

removing BF3 from every on line distribution platform but Origin

This is sorta silly, but hey, whatever. Their game. They can make it as unrealistic or realistic as they want.

On the topic of the No Russian level is MW2, I actually sorta fired around to make it look like I was a terrorist, but never fired at a civvy throughout the whole level. I was mortified that they were doing such a thing, but I kept in character, trying not to get my cover blown by just sitting there doing nothing. So I shot the walls as I watched in horror, waiting for the moment I could put a bullet in all of their backs. Then I got killed. It sucked.

Anyway, I was fully immersed in the story during that mission. I think EA is being sorta childish. But whatever. Like I said, their game. I'm not getting it regardless. I sorta fell off the FPS train after Blops. It just didn't tickle me in the right places like MW2 did.

I'm kindof worry how many people want to kill civ when all you will get is probably a "Fail mission" on your screen and have to start over on the mission. But Hey I guess people LOVE! to start over.

Though I still don't get the huge uproar of this, since a BF game NEVER HAD CIV TO START WITH! but hey I guess killing civ is the only thing these people do.

Forget AI, we gotta kill civ.
Forget graphics, we gotta kill civ.
Forget MP, WE GOTTA KILL CIVS!
Forget everything good about the game..WE GOT TO KILL CIVS!

Really people, if this is a game breaker, then I have no idea why you are playing anything since most games don't let you kill civ beside CoD. But whatever, I just think this is just a excuse for people to hate on EA more.

Meh, its a game. i usually go out of my way to -not- kill civilians in games like that.. but sometimes i just dont care either. Plus, just how many game have us gunning/burning/running over countless helpless, defenseless civilians and no one bats an eye about it? Yeah. a whole lot.

But towns without civies around? That kinda ruin the purpose of having a town in the first place.. its sterile, lifeless, boring. Basically it just means that if something moves anywhere in the game, you kill it. No need to wait and identify it. Just shoot it or blow it up.

Acting just as childish as Infinity Ward bragging about new features such as the new Frostbite engine and denying the importance of what helps other games like them having 60 FPS?

I gotta say, both of the big two FPS games coming out this year are looking pretty great in general to play but the Battlefield team seems to be bragging too much about way too much that doesn't help there game look good. I would rather hear all the problems after the game comes out so I don't hate the game before I choose to buy it or not.

EDIT:

nevermind, wrong game. But regardless, I dont care. personally, i think civilian death should be part of a game, as its part of war, and you should be punished for actively pursuing it.

I like this choice, because I believe the producer is right: most people would happily gun down civilians if given the chance because, "Hey, it's just a game." And don't tell me they won't. When talking to my friends about shooters and RPGs and the decisions they made, I'm sometimes shocked that they choose the options they do. "It's just a game man," is the defense they always give me.
But it is a game. You can act however you want within the parameters that the developers made for that game. So if curiosity and boredom gets to you, why not go a little crazy?
