Well, to be honest...I'd prefer a Crimson Skies HD.
Theres a pc version which has a much higher resolution then the 576 lines of the xbox one, about 4 times the pixels you had :D And its more then high enough to be hd.
But yeah considering the upgrades they did with strangers wrath it would not only be HD but also get decent textures more polys etc.
Btw... I just read that xbox games were programmed for HD output but it didn't work on pal tvs and that the xbox (classic) could output in HD like pcs if you didn't have a pal tv. Kinda awesome^^

I can see it now:

Every hater cries MS milking the franchise, and MS makes a boatload of $$$.

I say leave it be.

Replaying the older, more retro Halo's had a certain charm to it; you could see the graphics' evolution over time in the series, and reliving your favorite in-game moments in the low-def you remember is just plain nostalgic.

Halo Reach promised a decisive end to the trilogy, remakes included.

If the price was right, I'd get it. But the guy does know what he's talking about, Microsoft is terrible at letting people enjoy their old games (I may be paraphrasing a little).

I just want my damn Backwards Compatibility...why, Microsoft, why!? Apparently there's a lack of interest (despite what I've seen), but that doesn't mean I can't keep using the situation as an example of Microsoft's inability to deliver such things :p.

Although, I would like to see remakes done more often if I could play the games, and no backwards compatibility was available. I would reluctantly buy them, personally. Well, maybe not reluctantly if the remake involved more than just graphics updates.

Maybe some big Nostalgia Edition or something of Halo; throw in the HD game and a handful of new guns and levels, or whatever other content can be crammed in. 'Making of' videos and such. Hell, if fans are your market, releasing the same thing with a content boost would be more than tempting.

lol the year Microsoft doesn't have a highly anticipated AAAA title coming out, is the year they announce this remake. its not good to have all your eggs in one basket as they say :D

hang-on, isn't there already a HD version of 1&2 out on the 360?
No, there is a remake on Xbox live but it has no updated graphics and minor changes
Well, there's a downloadable disc image of Halo 1 up on Live along with the necessary back-compatibility patches... I don't think anything was changed in the game code so I wouldn't consider it a remake. (Heck, it still outputs video in a 4:3 aspect ratio only.) I don't know if Halo 2 is downloadable yet, but if so it'll be the same arrangement.

(I still say that Xbox Live should keep updating their back-compatibility catalog; heck, make it an internship thing if they're worried about costs.)

This is going to be their FFVII. There's more value in teasing it.

Good. Thanks Microsoft. It's nice to see that some companies can focus on bringing us new experiences instead of just re-releasing games that aren't old enough to need it yet.

Halo 1 cam be played on the 360 with extended resolution , all original Xbox games can(the ones the 360 compatible with at least) so it's not really a big deal.
This is what I thought because, going by my memory of playing Halo on my 360 a long while back, it looked fantastic.

I'm rather glad for now because it would just seem like Haloverkill. At this point, Microsoft needs to focus on something new (outside of Kinect).

I'm crazy-go-nuts for Halo, but a hi-def retread doesn't interest me in the slightest. I'd rather see new games instead of remakes... I felt the same way over the Beyond Good and Evil HDification, truth be told.

I'm just afraid that this'll turn out like the Turner Colorization of old B&W movies, or the current trend of slapping 3D on anything animated or with explosions whether the film was written for it or not.
Actually I think MS has a smaller chance of messing up retreads than they do of messing up something new in the same universe.

I view creators as tourguides to a land I can't visit by myself. The Halo universe exists somewhere, and Bungie helped me explore it. HD retreads of H1 & H2 would be like going over familiar territory with a new perspective-- but Bungie's perspective is there, in that content, to help guide them and us.

A new Halo title would be new territory explored by new guides, and I think there's more of a chance that it won't feel like Halo to me-- rather like having a favorite universe explored by new authors.

To put it another way: The Halo universe was a place I wanted to go because I saw it through Bungie's eyes. Is it an interesting place to go without them? If Halo Wars is the measure of that... I'm not entirely sure.
