Well, Double Fine has yet to let me down, so I'm sure this'll be good. Too bad a) I don't have a Kinect and b) I have little to no interest in Sesame Street. But good for all the new people exposed to Schafer and Double Fine - hopefully they get a few new fans out of it.

This is good on every level. Sesame Street signs a quality developer. Double Fine gets some nice working capital, WHILE doing something at least somewhat significant to them (and a no-brainer as to the typical tone and humor of their games). They also familiarize themselves with the Kinect.

And the kids?

The kids just scored a double rainbow.

This is about as perfect a match of IP to Video Game designer as a Sesame Street Movie would be with Tim Burton directing.

Hmm... odd news. But, hey, this sounds like it'll work so good for Double Fine.

Surely the right people for the job, and I hope they pull some good cash from it and come back with a full meal game.

I am not the least bit ashamed to say that I would still buy this even if I did not work with kids. maybe I should bring it into class any way... I now no longer need reason to buy a kinect.

At first, I had thought this was strange to say the least...but really, when I think about it, Tim Schanfer and Double Fine have a history of odd worlds and quirk environments, which Seasame street fits into.

One of the big problems with motion control-focused games is that we haven't had many quality developers making games with them (aside from Nintendo IPs). Make enough legitimately good games for Kinect and I'll eventually probably buy a Kinect.
