A horror-game with a story that could actualy happend in real life would be good.
Most good horror-movies are like that. I think...

This sounds like an interesting idea. I'm definitely going to keep looking in to this game.

Alan Wake was announced in May 2005, so the four year estimate is pretty close to the mark. That's four years that we've known about it, actual development time is almost certainly longer. It makes the Duke Nukem Forever easter egg in Max Payne 2 rather sweetly ironic.
The first glimpses of the first Max Payne we got were about 4 years before the actual game got out as well, which was about 10 years ago when game budgets were considerably smaller and the average time it took to develop one was also shorter. Needless to say, there really isn't any reason to stop having faith in Remedy quite yet. I'm sure they'll deliver. At least with their previous games, they have.

Then again, the first Max Payne did come with a level editor that didn't have an undo function. And it never would have that function. That was pretty amazing.

I'm hoping this turns out to be everything Alone in the Dark couldn't be, and I think Alan Wake has a surprisingly good chance to turn out well. I only hope I'm correct in the end.

Oooohhh, they are playing off of Secret Window, Secret Garden which is similar to The Dark Half. Okay, so Alan Wake finds that the scenes from his book are playing out in the little town of Bright Falls (an opposite name of Silent Hill to be sure). Alan has to figure out how and why it is happening before his mind snaps.

Given that the real monsters in the world are human, it has some scare potential. Will have to see if it has legs. I'm not sure about "episodes". That always makes me feel like I'm going to have some random limit put on how much time I'm allowed to explore or solve puzzles. But Eternal Darkness did chapters well and made me like the characters so it can be done. I'm looking forward to this one.

Interesting, is this some kind of spiritual successor to Alone in the Dark?
I'm waiting to learn what button we need to use to blink.
Ah well, always been a big fan of Silent Hill so if this game takes after its mentor I may pick it up.
