No more Skyrim DLC

I was under the impression there would be at least one "expansion"-sized DLC. Oh well, there has been more than enough content, and plenty of good times to be had. The mod community on PC is extreme, so there is that.

Fallout 4, man.. cannot wait.

I guess 'GOTY' will be coming sooner than I thought. I'll pick one up at steam sales or something.

..So yeah. I'm pretty indifferent about it.

That would be TES VI: Alinor.

you have to wonder why they changed the name of the Summerset Isles to Alinor in Skyrim just out of the blue...... Summerset Isles doesn't sound like a good name for a game I reckon the reason is.

There is only one problem:

I can't annihilate the Thalmor like I always wanted. I can fuck them over a few times but I truly want to whack them in half.

Yeah that works best as a name really, Summerset Isle doesn't exactly sound epic.

Theres a page of the wiki that gives a nice explaination of it actually:

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Summerset_Isle

In universe,(and in very short) about 20 years after the Oblivion crisis the Thalmor were a political party, who eventually took control of the island by force or political backstabbing and then named it Alinor, in tribute to the capital, 50 years later, the Great War happens, the empire signs the "peace treaty" then 20 years later the events of Skyrim (the game) happen.

Although it seems like TES5 was really gearing up for a war, which would work nicely as an expansion pack rather than a full blown game, as there needs to be a world ending crisis going on. Wheras just the war could be set over a nicely focused expansion pack, perhaps set over a couple decades or something. I'd hate to miss it. Dah, I'll just have to play the GoT conversion mod instead.

They're probably working on the MMO which looks like a generic mmo-a-thon, so a lot of nothing to look forward to there
<=Doesn't like MMOs.

I'd like to see a TES game not in the 'human' regions, probably won't happen for reasons but it'd be interesting.

It is indeed an unfortunate thing that we can expect no more content from this wonderful game. But we have much to be thankful for as well. Skyrim is still a great game we can play dozens of times over in numerous fashions. We may not be able to become a God of a Daedric Realm but we can become a near Demigod as a Vampire Lord of the Volkihar. And lastly, in a game with dragons we can finally ride them. It may be clunky, but we can at least say we can.

True, we will never visit Hammerfell or any of the other outlying provinces, but this only means that when we do finally gaze upon them in another single player Elder Scroll it will be under a brighter sun - the next generation of gaming. We may not be able to bring the fight to the Thalmor, but when we do it will be all the more satisfying as we watch their beautifully rendered blood flow. Nevertheless I must express my condolences for those who are dissatisfied with this news. But I can tell you this; you may take solace in Skyrim as it is now - whole and complete. No expansion shall threaten the stability of your mod arrangement, nor shall you be left wondering what might be around the corner.

The sun has set upon Skyrim but not upon Tamriel. A new hero shall rise come the dawn - one who shall lead the world against the darkness. For now we may finally let our Dragonborn rest - for history must now account for our actions.

With TESO coming in Q4 2013 or Q1 2014 i doubt you'll see TES5 coming out any time soon, it makes very little sense of putting out a single player game of the same genre when you have an MMO which will yield you more income in the long run(if it's any where close to successful).

Eh, even if there's no more official content, modders will keep pumping stuff out. Hell, people are still modding Morrowind, and that game's more than a decade old.

Hey, there's still the modding community. Has anyone seen the Elsweyr quest-pack that someone made? That thing is epic, and huge too!

Huh. Usually they kick out four good sized DLC per game. Hope this is just Skyrim, it would be a shame if the next Fallout didn't have four awesome DLC. In fact, I would have to write a letter.

I know wh ythey changed the nanme and lore, and never use TES wiki, it blows massive chunks, use UESP or the Impeiral Library.

You are aware The thalmor seek to kill all of mankind so they can kill Talos and unmake the world right?

how is unmaking the world NOT a world-ending crisis.

If that means Fallout 4, I'll be Bethesda's ***** forever.
Same here, I've been craving a new Fallout game for ages now. Every time I try to replay Fallout 3 and New Vegas I usually stop after a few hours since I've pretty much done everything in those games.

OP: Not really surprised that they've stopped. After all, Skyrim has been out for a year and a half already. Plus, I'm not complaining that there won't be any more DLC because I haven't done everything in Dragonborn yet.

I know it's an easy target but can you imagine how Skyrim would have turned out if EA was in charge?
Oh, you want to use Dragonrend? That'll be $5 please. Thieves and Assassin's Guild quest lines are only available in the Premiere Edition. There'd be a dragonborn hosted competitive multiplayer component! All bows are replaced by M16s, you have to be connected to the Internet at all times to play it and instead of a toolset, you get banned for trying to mod it. But you'd get a suit of Dead Space armour, so it's fine.

As soon as it's released, the studio that made it would be shut down. The next game wouldn't be elsewhere in Tamriel, but instead be Skyrim II and instead of a sandbox, it's a military set-piece shooter.

If Ubisoft made it, you'd have to climb up everything and have a 360 camera spin around you before you jump off. Also you'd unlock a suit of Iron Armour for the Lone Wanderer in Fallout 3.

If Capcom made it, you'd only get 6 races to choose from with the other 3 on the disc, but paid for separately. The controls wouldn't work, the camera would be locked just above your characters shoulder and everyone would look broody.

If Valve made it, it wouldn't be out for another 3 years.

If Rockstar made it, all the horses would be cars, there'd be no PC version, the Dovahkiin would be replaced by the "Gangsta" and you'd have to take Lydia out on 3 dates before she agreed to carry any of your burdens.

If Square Enix made it, all the weapons would be triple the size and the characters replaced by Japenese blue-haired teenagers.

But really, is there any citation for this news? There are great mods out there but a couple more official expansions would be great, not to mention sell well.

Pessimistic much?

Or at least I do hope this was some sort of sarcastic post... Actually, thinking about it it probably is. Good job!
