This really is a case where there's "No Right Answer."
Futurama has always been the tighter show, but owes that in no small part to the fact that groenig had a decade or so of experience with the Simpsons going into it.

no contest simpsons may of been king in the 90's but now its old and senile now and needs to retire

Another one of these that I wasn't too happy with the outcome of, but it's not as bad as Die Hard Vs Lethal Weapon 
Right, without the Simpsons, there can be no Futurama - that much we are sure of. Groening made Futurama better because when they started, they knew what they were doing with the development process. The 3D is fantastic and the jokes are of a higher level than most of the stuff you catch on the Simpsons.
Simpsons ran well for the first 10-12 seasons. It has been a corpse kept alive by FOX pushing the fluids around the body artificially, in the hope that they can extract every last cent out of the franchise, before they finally commit it for burial and re-runs.
Yes, FOX have made some horrendous decisions, regarding the Simpsons franchise - this has allowed FOX to stay on the air and out of Rupert Murdoch's pockets. It will not last forever, yet Futurama is fantastic and no-one really seems to care what Groening does on the better show, while Simpsons continues to run, as property of FOX.

This is a tough one. I love Futurama, it's a fantastic show, but at the same time, The Simpsons is great too. (I've only watched the first ten seasons, and that doesn't include any of the first season either.) The Simpsons just has so many brilliant gags. Some of the best comedy writing I've ever seen. I love how often the jokes subvert audience expectations.
So in the end, even considering that I'm quite the sci-fi fan, I guess I probably would have to say The Simpsons.

There is one where Professor Frink let them they see themselves as teens where Lisa would lose her scholarship and thus end up marrying Milhouse, but Bart prevented that from happening after seeing what would come out of it.
It might be me being forgetful here, but I can't remember them being married in any other future than the one Bart prevented from happening.
OT: I like Futurama the best because there's more character depth. The Simpsons give me many good laughs, but the story is a lot better in Futurama. It's also new and the environment is a lot different and it doesn't put any limits on where they can be because of the space traveling. So in short character depth and the new jokes make it better.
This was, by far, the best episode I've seen. The arguments were logical, valid, and to the point between two comparable subjects.
Futurama, no question. While I agree, the Ex Mas episodes are a problem, It was funny once, it wasn't funny 5 times later, there are plenty of good episodes out there. You can't really compare Treehouse of Horror to the Christmas episodes, they compare better to Anthology of interest.
Simpsons meanwhile.. It's time for it to wrap up and reach a conclusion. Good shows are getting canned left and right for it. Hell, Futurama was one of them. Groening got tired of that crap and took it to comedy central.
