Bit of a dick move on part of the doctors. I'd imagine it goes against the hippocratic oath too.

So......yes it's dumb not to get your kids vaccinated but it's even dumber for the docs to turn them away.
Exactly this. Also, despite not causing autism, many vaccines are extremely dangerous. The common flu vaccine has killed people, something like 1/1000 experience extreme adverse reactions. Many vaccines are even worse. It's not a stupid idea not to give ur kids unnecessary vaccines.

My mom has a friend whose daughter died after getting vaccinated. Because of that event my mom made sure that I and my siblings never, ever got vaccinated when we were kids.

It's ridiculous that you HAVE to be vaccinated.

they should lose their license. They should also be open to malpractice suits if anyone were to die of something they could have prevented had they not turned the patient away.
They could have prevented it if the patients took their shots.

And no doctor in any country I know is required to see any patient outside of an emergency situation.

Thanks for playing though.
The doctors have no business denying a child healthcare that may prevent a life-threatening emergency because of parental stupidity, economical hardship(This is why I wasn't vaccinated on time) or parental ideals. That's why they should be banned from practicing and open to malpractice suits.

I think you're misunderstanding the move.

They're not protesting parent's not getting their kids shots, they are protecting the health of the younger kids they treat who cannot be vaccinated by refusing to accept potential carriers as patients and therefore not allowing them into their waiting rooms.

Also, it's not like this is emergency treatment, they're refusing to be the primary care doctor for these kids, they are obligated by law to provide treatment in emergencies.

While it might be annoying, they are perfectly within their rights and it probably protects their most vulnerable patients the most.

Something about doctors and an oath... Hypocrites? No wait, that wasn't the word. That's what they're being a load of INSTEAD of following their oaths..

Protecting patients that are too young to be immunized is being a load?

Wouldn't doctors know what kind of allergies or immune system the child has before just giving a vaccine in order to know if the child can handle it?

I don't know about all situations, but they can't see it coming for flu. My mom is an RN, and that was pretty much the extent of her rant that she goes on every year when flu vaccines start being advertised. She hates them, they only protect against a handful of strains, only 2 or maybe 3 are well protected, and there are thousands. And for 1/1000(I think that's the number, I haven't heard the rant for 3 years do to being in college) cases there is a unpredictable complication that can almost never be stopped. I believe it causes respiratory problems if I remember correctly. She saw a 20-something year old woman die because of it her first year working.

For the whole hippocratic oath thing, assuming this is a story from America, doctors can refuse treatment or surgery on a non-emergency basis.
