while i haven't played rdr and therefore my opinion isn't worth dirt; however i agree with me2 in that, even though there were two discs, it felt like half the game me1 was; also the music was terrible. out with the great techno sci-fi music and in with the generic epic action music.Irridium said:Out of that list, I say give it to either New Vegas or Kirby. Both amazing games and my two favorites of the year. Their choice though.
Probably will be RDR or ME2. Which I don't think deserve it that much. Marston came off as a prick(although I guess for good reason, but still, I don't like pricks) and the story felt disjointed. And ME2 didn't really advance the plot at all.
Just my opinion though.
It will be RDR.Halley M said:who cares what's on the list? everyone knows it's going to either ME2 or RDR.
Wait, are you saying Mass Effect had music? Wow, that's news to me. I didn't even notice Mass Effect's soundtrack in all but one or two areas. When I found it on Youtube, I thought it was incredibly generic sounding and not at all memorable.cthulhumythos said:while i haven't played rdr and therefore my opinion isn't worth dirt; however i agree with me2 in that, even though there were two discs, it felt like half the game me1 was; also the music was terrible. out with the great techno sci-fi music and in with the generic epic action music.Irridium said:Out of that list, I say give it to either New Vegas or Kirby. as for my top choice: a tie between new vegas (dead money in particular), halo reach, and epic yarn.
what were you smoking while you were playing this? because you clearly weren't playing the same game as the rest of us.matrix3509 said:Man, you KNOW its been a shitty year when Mass Effect 2 make the list of best games. Wow...just wow. This single game is pretty much a betrayal of everything that Bioware used to stand for, and consequently, a betrayal of their fans.
Agreed.Dragonmaw said:Too bad stellar hits like Amnesia and Super Meat Boy were ignored in favor of trite garbage like Heavy Rain and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
Maybe it was the ridiculous railroading plot that pretty much took what was good about the first game and pissed all over it. Then again it might have been the boring, rinse-repeat gun fights that tried and failed to be like every 3rd person shooter ever. Then again maybe it was the gutting of any semblance of depth from the leveling system, which loops around to my first point. I could go on.Halley M said:what were you smoking while you were playing this? because you clearly weren't playing the same game as the rest of us.matrix3509 said:Man, you KNOW its been a shitty year when Mass Effect 2 make the list of best games. I think you are confusing well designed with well budgeted, honestly blizzard are some of the worst designers in the industry. (I'm looking at you rogues and warlocks!)Aurgelmir said:If we should go by epic scale and he sheer awesomeness of a game, it can only be one winner:
StarCraft2: Wings of Liberty.
None of the other games on that list comes even close to being as well designed as SC2 is.
Actually, RDR is a sequal to a ps2 game from the mid 2000's called "Red Dead Revolver". RDR was pretty much just Red Dead Revolver mixed with GTA.MrLumber said:All I've got to say is, if that's what is nominated for GOTY, what a dissapointment (in the year, i mean)
95% of those titles are sequels, the only new IP being Heavy Rain. I consider RDR a spiritual successor to GTA, seeing as they haven't changed a thing outside of bizonker driving physics.
Damn you innovative stagnation!!
