I came up with a great idea for a web series or possibly a comic. It's a Star Wars idea, in which Darth Vader didn't kill Padme, instead they went through a messy divorce when the twins were 3. They have joint custody, and alternate between Vader's apartment on Coruscant and the suburban Alderan. It's the typical divorcee/single parent sitcom. I thought this could be funny as hell, but then I got to thinking, the canon of Star Wars I love would have to be skull-fucked to accommodate this idea. Is non-canon comedy a good idea, and would anyone actually watch this, or am I just a hack?

If the jokes you have are very funny, I don't see why not, and as far as Non-canon comedy goes, it's certainly the best kind of comedy. I would watch it once.

It seems like it could work potentially, depending on how you portray the characters and how long you are able to string out the jokes.
And how geeky it is.

I have a Non-canon starwars comedy it involves Sora, Jak, Daxter, Ratchet, and Clank siding with the Rebel forces after the fall of the second death star to battle the neverending war between Dark and Light..... And there is an Immortal Badass named A.J. who is made of the very essence of the force and controls the starforge looks like he is 18 but has been around since Kotor 2. (and lilith is his girlfriend [thought that might be cool]). Also he has an army of free runners made of monkey men (like sunwo kong who is actually one of the generals in which we just call him kong) and normal humans who use actual guns. And Commander shepard is a halo spartan, The planet of the apes fight Avatar's Na'vi, The entire Senate on coruscant gets killed by the badass runner army who is trained by Garrus, the master/yoda/know it all genius is a talking dog, also your head looks like it might explode so you should stop reading before something happens..... also organization 13 forms a band, the boondock saints are in it and their stupid F^.^ing rope, A.J.'s brother is a demon Priest with Lu Bu lightsabers. It actually get pretty scientific so i'm not going to get into details.

Your Idea reminds me of the spaceballs animated series in which it has nothing to do with the movie but its just a bunch of random parodies using the characters that were in the movie.

Vader's a sarcastic cynic with a love of dark comedy. He's dealing with his ex-wife, Empire policy, conquering the galaxy, and trying to be a good father. Starkiller's his apprentice/*****, you know the one who gets him coffee, does the paperwork, and occasionally watches the kids when Vader has to kill someone. Padme is the ex-wife, though not as bad as most sitcom ex-wives. Obi-wan is the old friend, Rex is the work friend and drinking buddy, and Palpatine is Barry Bostwick. You know, it's the classic sitcom set up; the juxtaposition of typical life, with crazy situations and flawed logic. That kind of sitcom that's funny, yet can balance seriousness and facilitates character growth.
-I actually need some input here. Should Vader get remarried? Should Padme? Would that be funnier, or would it just be ridiculous?
