Not really, it depends on the context.
As far as I know, porra literally means cum. Here's a scenario for you: you're watching some porn and that lovely lady goes "gimme that cum" or whatever, in portuguese she would say something like "me dá essa porra". Now, say you're playing some coop game with a friend and he fucks everything up, resulting in the death of both players. You go "fuck, man". In portuguese you'd say "porra, velho." Except "velho" literally means "old" but in this context it's supposed to mean "man", "dude" or something similar.
Porra can even be used to start or to end an insult where it doesn't even mean anything... it's just there. You say something like "porra, vai tomar no cu" or "vai tomar no cu, porra" It's like an exclamation mark when used this way.
