A Demo will never get you the feel for an RPG the way actually taking the time to play the game will. Hell, there are some RPG's that you don't get into until you've put at least 5-10 hours in. This is all conjecture; some people will get into a game faster and others will take even longer.pyrosaw said:

Do you mean stealth games and RPGs, or just gaming in general? Because, I'm not a big RPG or stealth fan myself, but I like gaming in general.
Also, Jak's a platforming game, not an RPG, just so you know.
EDIT: Oh, I think I get it now. I'm not very good at stealth games or RPGs either, but I don't think that's why I don't like them. I mean, I suck at music games, but I still love those. I think it all has to do with pacing for me, and those two genres are generally too slow for my liking.
Also, Jak's a platforming game, not an RPG, just so you know.

just play games that you like. We are not forcing you to play RPGs.

It's a Marmite thing. I love stealth (If it's done well like IN Batman AA or MGS), and a good story can make an average game awesome. However I have friends that will simply switch off if they find a stealth segment in a game. From your post it seems like you haven't really given RPG's a fair chance, you can't judge a story from a demo, and certainly can't judge the mechanics of such a long game. I agree that not all games NEED a story and a lot of games shoehorn in a crappy, but this is because they are attempting to emulate the success of games with fantastic stories (e.g HL the final fantasy series etc)

Look,sorry for the Jaks an RPG mistake,i tend to overuse the word roleplaying.But what im trying to say,is that i love gameplay.Yes,stories are good,but only when they kept me intrested.And now that every game needs backstory,amazing graphics,upgrade systems,and at least a 2 or 3 behind it,good storys get watered down.I mean did you really need a story behind Doom?Of course not.Theres badguys,who have guns,and you have the means to kill them.
