It is a persistant flaw in wow veterans not to want ANYONE NEW to learn to play. Seriously the flack my girlfriend gets as a lvl 20 just because she isn't a walking wowpedia. People should chill and learn to accept mistakes. TBH it's only a certain strain of wow player who gets arsey over 'noobs', when i was leveling i had any number of supreemely helpfull people who were forgiving of my newness.handofpwn said:Because everyone starts out a noob. Its an unfortunate fact of life. If I said I didnt roll on a trinket when I wasnt supposed to I would be lieing. But now I know better!
I like to help newbies, but occasionally there are the bad ones that just make you want to kill them all with a flaming axe.Johnmw said:It is a persistant flaw in wow veterans not to want ANYONE NEW to learn to play. Edit* as an example of my newbishness Didnt know there was an exact terminoligy difference between newb and noob.
right cause you're just as bad as them now, so you've been as bad as the ones you complain about this whole timeXbowhyena said:I'm not really all that worked up about it, I'm just posting because I know some people will find this funny and to make my point: Why the hell are there so many noobs on MMOs? however instead of being a noob, you are the close relative of the noob called the boob
seriously you didn't start playing and knew 100% of what you were doing in game. so be quiet and just tell the person what they did wrong instead of thinking you are superior
This is totally not how the game works.JinxyKatte said:OK so I have played wow but dont now and here are my thoughts. Although I know next to nothing about it now.
Amulet is rare and worth something im assuming.
You and the other guy could have used it whereas the warrior could not. But why shouldnt he roll for it and just sell it?? Did he not help to get the drop???
Yeah I hate that, especially when you tell them repeatedly about the danger of hitting the boss before you clear the Cathedral.soaringbiscuit said:I ran a group for SM and when we were in the cathedral with like 50 praying people and that one boss (can't quite remember his name, it's been forever). We entered the Cathedral and were about to start pulling the prayers when some n00b Warlock takes a straight spell shot at the boss and they all come running back and own us. Even double volleys from level 60 hunters couldn't save us from Uber Humiliation.Xbowhyena said:Only read this section if you play WoW, otherwise you probably won't understand much.
Alright, I was running SM Cath earlier this morning. We had a really bad group, but I knew we could make it. The group poorly put together, partly a fault of mine and partly because it's hard to find a good group in the morning, but it worked. As things sometimes go with recruiting for pugs, I ended up tanking AND healing, which suited me fine. I mean seriously, this is SM, level 30-40... It's easy as shit. Well there was a shaman and a warrior who were constantly getting on my nerves, and when we killed Mograine and Whitemane, the Triune Amulet drops. Naturally me (a pally) and the Warlock roll on it. Then of course the warrior rolls on it and wins it. Me and the lock just dropped group and logged right then.
You will understand this part if you play WoW or not.

Quel'Serar was a far better weapon then thunderfury and much easier to get, it benefited rouges and fury warriors much more.Kif said:The problem with WoW is that it attracts a lot of people who wouldn't necessarily have played games like that before and know the general 'netiquette' or have spent some time getting to know their classes.
It's the lower levels that suffer more for this as people tend to learn those kind of things as they level up. The best response though (if they have an honest personality and are mature) is to politely explain to them why that item is not suited for their class then maybe 3 times out of ten they raise a ticket with a GM and the item gets transfered. But really on low levels the xp rate is so nerfed that the item would be useless after a couple of days anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it. Besides last time I played, Paladins got dibs on virtually everything at 80.
The only thing I remember similar was that our guild leader saw fit to give a rogue the first Thunderfury on the server (himself a paladin) that was a little strange.
You have to remember the context of what happened, the 2 hunters present were reportedly bad raiders and the GM had personal beef with them. Also it happened with wrath like 2ish months away.SuperFriendBFG said:Giving the first Thori'dal Star's Fury to a Robue when several hunters in the group could've used it much better. There are actually better alternatives for Rogues then the legendary bow. They benefit very little from the DPS stat.
Oh no he didn't! I hope you smote him right then and there. The sheer insolence!General Ken8 said:I USED to play Runescape, and people were so dumb on that game
when my friends made me go onto nonmember worlds, all these noobs would swarm me because i had cool armor and weapons
when i used to have a granite maul, some guy walked up and shouted "Cool Rock Hammer Dude!"
