So yesterday I bought Assassin's Creed: Revelations in the Steam sale when it was on flash sale. I went for the Gold Edition because I wanted the single player DLC that came with it. But when I look on my games library it's just listed as the normal edition. It doesn't mention that there's anything special about it at all. I'm certain I did actually get the Gold Edition because the same thing happened when I got L.A. Noire a while ago too. I thought I got the Complete Edition but in my library it's only listed as "L.A. Noire". I thought maybe that time I just goofed and clicked the wrong thing, so this time I made sure I didn't make a mistake, yet it's still showing that my version of AC:R is just normal. Is this right? Do I actually have the bonuses but it's just not showing it, or is something wrong?

Bonus question: I also got The Missing Link DLC for Deus Ex: HR in the sale, but it's listed separately in my library from HR. Is that right? Do I have to play the DLC separate from the actual game or will I just find it included in the game proper?

That happened with me and Oblivion. I got the game of the year edition but it only lists itself as the regular game. Perhaps it's just a steam thing. Everything worked fine. I think it may have been like that for borderlands as well. It lists it as the regular game but I got the copy with all the dlc included.

right click assassins creed, and click view DLC. the gold edition may just be a bundle of the normal game, plus all the DLC, in which it wouldn't be a different title.

Same with LA Noire.

and The Missing Link is a sparate thing, it's not DLC in the game, it's a small expansion, you get a blank character with 8 praxis points, rather than your jensen.

Right click it in your library. Go down to properties. and Click the DLC tab. That shows all the DLC you got linked to your account for that game. DLC downloads automatically with the core game for you. No need to DL them seperate.

I don?t know about the first one but in regards to The Missing Link, yes it is meant to be separate and it?s not in the game itself you have to play it separately. It takes place after the mission Stowing Away (the part where you hide yourself in a container) so that's when you should play it.

Thanks so much everyone. That's a huge relief. I spent so long waiting for the right time to buy AC:R, it would be a huge pain in the arse if I fucked up once I actually went for it. But it seems I did make a mistake with L.A. Noire. There's no DLC listed. I don't mind about that game though, so it's no big deal.
