Nooby Steam question

Hello everyone!

I am completely new to steam, since I'm mainly a console gamer and my downloadspeed is dreadful.
However, I decided to finally get steam and I thought I'd give Team Fortress 2 a try.

I am also getting a new laptop next week (a mac, mind you!)

Now, my question is:
If I buy TF2 on steam, will I be able to just install steam on the mac and play TF2 on that computer aswell? Or will I have to pay for it again?

If you buy TF2 on steam, you can install it on whatever computer you can log into steam on. Macs included.

I don't know about non-valve games, but all valve games you have on mac as well as PC through the same account, so no, you will not have to buy the same copy of TF2 again.

Yes, you'll be able to play it on a Mac or a PC. You don't need to buy again.

The games in the steam store should have a [Apple + Windows logo] to show the game is MAC Compatible

Not all steam games are mac compatible, but if it is then you can play it on your mac.

When you buy a game on steam it becomes attached to your account, meaning you can take that account with you every where. You can backup your files onto a disc in case you don't want to redownload, just in case you didn't know.

You can install Steam, and play all the games you've downloaded via Steam, on up to 5 computers.

However, only one computer can be logged into Steam at once.

The games are tied to your Steam account, although not all games are compatible with Macs.

Yes, as long as you use the same account. For Macs, yes if this image:

is on the Steam store page in question. Team Fortress 2 has this, so your answer is yes.

If you buy a Mac, you're paying almost double (more than double in some cases) what you would pay for a PC with identical power, much more flexibility, that would allow you to play any computer game you wanted.

I know that's not what the thread is about, but why someone would get a Mac is just fucking beyond me.

Yes, I know I'm usually a PC fan aswell, but since it's actually the school who's selling/renting me this computers I get a killer deal out of it (15" Macbook Pro + CS 5 + Alot of other really expensive programs for 1110£.) So, since I figured I'd never get a mac this cheap ever again I'd might aswell try it out once.

I don't run a Mac, but they're very solid pieces of hardware. They're right for some people, if not for you. It's easy to forget, not everyone buys things using your brain or logic.
