Well depends how old the thread is I guess, I would rather have a repeat thread than a necro'd one.

Well, going by the rules, I believe we are not supposed to Necro threads more than 3 months old, as it puts a strain on the servers or something to that effect. Other than that, I personally would rather see one thread that encompasses a discussion rather than a lot of small disjointed ones.

I guess this shows you that humans have almost run out of original ideas.

I'd prefer no threads. Yeah, you heard me.
Oh edgy.

OT: I don't know, when you saw five Michael Jackson threads a day for a while it got boring. But I have also seen a thread get necro'd that was almost six months old and I later discovered I had already posted in it at that time. It just depends on the topic I think.

Depends on how good the thread is and if i have already posted my views in the topic. I may post again if i can add something new, Other than that i think they need to die down unless truly worthy of re-bumpage.

I prefer new ones. I often find myself commenting 3 times on a thread because I think they're new and not revived ones.

I guess although if the thread is well thought out the discussion could turn out different to the previous thread.

I'm starting to see my posts in necros, which sucks because I read the post think of what I want to say and then find out I've ninjaed myself.

Maybe. But if it did, it would only be slightly different. Because if you have the same people (maybe 1 or 2 new people) talking about the save(or similar) topic with their same opinions then the thread wouldn't have changed at all. Also, just about any topic can be broken down into some type of vs thread.

I had a Saw thread that was recently bumped by some random person. Thing is, I created the thread in like June. o.o

if it's still on the first or second page, it exists, if it goes into 3 it is lost.

Personally, once it ends up completely off the radar (no matter how long that takes), a repeat is called for. I'd rather have a new thread than one with responses from a year ago.

I bump threads when I have something new to add to them. For instance, what with the "Top 10 metal albums/bands/songs of the decade" lists popping up I might just resurrect a metal thread that I was pretty active in about a month and a half ago to ask Escapists their opinion/lists.

Depends how old the thread is. If it's a couple months then go right ahead and create a new thread, but if the thread is at least 2 weeks old then necro it. That's how I see it at least.
