I don't mind repeat threads and think that often the over reaction to someone creating a post similar to another one is pointless, if you don't like answering a repeat question you can always back out of the thread without commenting, surely?
And a good topic is always worth revisiting whether it is an old thread bumped or a new one!

This is probably the only forum I've ever posted on where people get uppity about the search bar. On this forum, people would rather you necro a thread it seems.

I really have a hard time with reading a thread that's more than 5 pages... if I haven't already read the whole thing I will usually pass on the thread. I can't be bothered to pore through everything to see if someone else has said something I already said.

If a repeated thread goes over 5 pages I would prefer a new thread rather than a bump.

Most of the threads on these forums are either hate threads or duplicates so why bother bumping them. :O

Perhaps, if it's basically the same discussion then I don't see why not. But it'd be weird to have people quoting you from 8 months ago and forgetting why you posted something.

Usually if I've made a thread that get's repeated I post a link to the thread detailing my response because I don't fancy re writing my essay long arguement for something when it's already posted.

I don't like posting after a topic has gotten to 50, unless I'm a part of it (responding to other people who commented on what I said).

If I'm not on the first 2 pages, I don't post, unless it is something where there is no conversation, just throwing ideas, because every page is a first page.

noone will do it, cause making a new thread means you're teh OP so you can harvest all the glory and attention for yourself insetad of just beeing annonymous poster nr 76 in a thread that isn't yours. And you might even risk that hat you we're gonna say on the topic has been said by 10 peopel in the same hread alredy, making you look even more un-original and un inspiring.

That's why you hardly see any necro-ing, but tons of re-posted threads, people want fame, glory, quotes and badges.
