I liked it, to be honest. Anyway, Norway have every right to be happy and so I'm glad to see they're enjoying their win

Mainly though I'm just proud of the UK entry, we actually did well for once, so maybe we'll have a chance next year to do better. No more Jemini and a bit more Jessica Garlick, perhaps, as it were...

The guy got his history wrong, we never fought the Danish, we fought the Swedish after you guys let them take over.
Also, personally I didn't pay much, if any, attention to the Eurovision contest... Sure, congratulations to the winners, but in the end, it's just another silly popularity contest.

As a Norwegian, I'd want to say the -real- reason the country celebrates, as already stated, is because it's our Constitution Day, but I'm not at all patriotic either. XD
I find patriotism like "Political Correctness", a scourge of mankind, but not as bad, still.

When we were offered to Sweden, we protested against it. We were not happy with being treated like just a piece of land anyone could toss around. Therefore we demanded our own constitution, and in 1814 it was a fact. Our union with Sweden didn't end until 1905 though.
But we did not fight anyone, we were far more civilized than that (or lazy if you will). However, Norway has been in several wars against Sweden when the union with Denmark existed, but that's for another lesson.

Please, do not mistake my historical knowledge and intelligence, dear fellow Norwegian. I take great pride of it. My previous comment was a reference to the well known American movie "Independence Day" and merely an attempt at being humouristic.

Now excuse me as I'm going to add you to my friends list. =)
