Now lets be honest, we all like to proudly rant about how everything was better "back then" as in when we were kids (especially when it comes to music, everyone loves to trash everything now then proudly proclaim their taste in music as if its part of a master race)

anyway back on topic yeah people look at things through a nostalga filter but I think we all forget a general rule, the good stuff from any given era will likeley be the stuff thats remembered and loved and cherished and so forth while the average to bad stuff gets forgotten, trust me there were tons of terrible movies in the eighties (though mabye more original than now) and music, I mean really quality-wise is there really much difference between a fluffy pop-hit from now and yester year? really?

So for a disscussion topic have you ever re-visited somthing, anything a beloved movie game music to find its not quite the shining becon of awsomeness you remember it to be?

oh and a music example we had an old CD lying around "so-fresh 2001" basically a compilation of top hits from that year, it was hilarious listening to it again as half the stuff was kinda crappy and of corse completley forgotten

Actually, I've experienced the opposite. I never really liked E.T when I was a kid. I found it bored me. It was till I was 20 I found myself watching it on TV outta desperation and my eyes were opened. It was a great film!

Sometimes when I watch Postman Pat again, it doesn't seem as awesome. And while I used to sit for hours, intrigued by my Bananas in Pyjamas VCR, I can barely make it through an episode now without feeling very bored and thinking that all the characters are incredibly contrived and that there are gaping plot holes everywhere.

I don't know Emerson, Lake and Palmer doing Fanfare for the Common Man in the Montreal Stadium is still pretty epic. I still love Monkey Magic. Pirates! is still one of my favorite games.
