Nostalgia, we all love it, and we often find we don't have a clue why we loved it when we go back to see it(Though that's not always the case.) Because of a certain thread ( http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.150081 ) I was reminded of a few games from my past, and now I have a quest.

I now stand here, with a DS lite (Black), a Gameboy Advanced (Silver) and a Gameboy Color (Badass yellow special edition pokemon version). I have decided to undergo the task of reliving my nostalgia. First, I shall beat Super Mario Bros. 3, and then I'll undergo the daunting task of playing through every pokemon game I own, which spans the entirety of the main series. I have Red, special Pikachu edition yellow, Silver, Crystal (Gold could not be found and is presumed MIA, sadly), Ruby, and finally Diamond. I will play the original 2 on my original gameboy, the second trilogy (of which I'm missing one) on the Advanced, and the rest (Ruby and Diamond) on my DS. Such a daunting task will take me an insane amount of time, as I plan on completing these games to their fullest extent, which includes the legendary pokemon, Elite fours, and creating a somewhat dream team (I have no intent on 'catching them all', as that would be beyond insane.)

Such a task, I do not take lightly, and I will have to take a break in it when I get newer games, but I am quite up to the task of beating each game, for Nostalgia's sake.

And for the discussion part, as otherwise this is just a blog post or status update, I ask you: Have you ever committed to a task like the one I shall soon partake in, simply for Nostalgia?

My response is a simple yes and no. However this can be broken down into the complexities of why. What game? Well, firstly, the 'Fable' games come to mind, due to the mind boggling amounts of time I have spent on them. Just for the sake of nostalgia. I am absolutely positive there are others, however my mind is bent and keeps coming to the 'Fable' games. Why? I have no idea, human nature, longest time spent for nostalgia, or some random thing.

Hope you don't get pulled into the singularity of Pokemon.

Not necessarily a game many on here will recognize, but I recently came across a copy of Cross Country Canada. I booted it up, and my god, found that game every bit as fun as when I first figured it out in elementary. Probably just the memories of figuring it out in school, but I still find it fun.

Did this with The Fallout trilogy, and Fallout Tactics. Again with Diablo, and Diablo 2.

I do it occasionaly. You end up doing things like this less as you get older.
