Man, this thread is like being trapped in the realm of ugly. Seriously, just everyone! Every SINGLE one of you!
Disgusting. Just...abject mutations, the lot of you. Girls, guys, others...just utterly revolting.
I would never have believed that so many ugly people existed in the entire world!
Time to vomit and disinfect my poor eyeballs.
There is an often recited, yet incorrect claim that water drains in an anti-clockwise direction in the Southern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Northern hemisphere. This claim, popularised by
The Simpsons, is based off of a real natural phenomenon known as the Coriolis effect. The reality, however, is that the Coriolis effect is far too weak a force to influence the direction of water drainage. The Coriolis effect influences large scale weather patterns across the globe, but is far too weak to counteract gravity, or the shape of the sinkhole/water reservoir. Factors, such as the shape of your toilet bowl, or which tap you turn on, are far more likely to influence the direction.
Hopefully, I put that factoid to bed. Which brings me on to another often repeated mistake: the word factoid was originally meant to refer to a "little, unsubstantiated fact". In other words, it is a term used to describe the nonsense which people will present as facts, like how many spiders you swallow a year, or how many times you can fold a piece of paper, without checking their accuracy. Unfortunately, as time as moved on, people have come to treat the word "factoid" to mean "small, quotable fact." Ironically, these same people will often recite genuine factoids.
I hope we all learnt something today.
