Not what it seems

There's been a lot of instances where I'll see a trailer for a movie or game and obviously make an opinion on what I see.

Then I go see/get it, and it is totally different from what I expected.

Not in a good or bad way just... different, like the feel was different.

Watchmen was the first time that happened to me. I thought it was awesome, by the way.

I can't really explain it, but you've probably had it happen to you so know what I'm talking about.

Talk about if/when it's happened to you; or if it's happening right now.

Fallout 3. None of previews I saw mentioned that they ditched the Elder Scrolls skill leveling system. Wasn't mad, just...surprised. I spent the entire opening sneaking around hoping to increase my Sneak. >_>

Also, I played Chrono Trigger after beating Chrono Cross, and was highly disappointed. So disappointed, in fact, that I didn't beat it. I played for about 15 hours, too. It's not bad, it's just that Cross had more originality in it's combat, world, and everything.

Not happened to me, but I can tell it likely happened to a lot of people when District 9 hit DVD and they showed a cut up trailer on TV. They made the movie out to be a hot-blooded action movie. It pissed me off since that's not what District 9 is about.

Reign of Fire. The trailer made it look like it was going to be an awesome movie with humans desperately fighting off hordes of dragons. I saw it in theaters and it was far less exciting and had far less dragon fighting than I had hoped.

The Village was another movie that was far different than the trailer. The trailer made it look like a colonial based monster movie, it turned out to be more of a 'human nature' type of movie. The Village was a good movie, for what it was, but it sucked as a 'scary movie'.

Shutter Island. From the trailer, I was expecting a whole different movie than what I got. I still really enjoyed the film, it just wasn't what I was expecting.
