I just saw this album cover from the Detroit Grand Pubahs and it made me want to see what the rest of you can come up with!

As a kid, I remember learning Roger Dean's name after seeing some of the album covers he'd done for Yes. In fact he may've been the first artist I knew by name.

However, some album covers that have long stood out in memory are:

I can't say it's amazing other than the fact that they somehow got away with it.

Other than that, Street Survivors by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's amazing because it's a photo of the band surrounded by flames and it was released at around the same time some of the band members died in a fiery plane crash. So the person who designed that one is probably a prophet.

This hasn't loaded yet, but I venture to guess ratm... aaaand the file name in the quote confirms that. Self-titled is my favourite album by them, hands down; it was one of the first albums I owned.

I'll probably be suspended/baned for this but this album cover is quite notable for being a real picture of Mayhem's singer, Dead's suicide in 1991.

Warning, not for the faint of heart.

Dead may have been a sick guy (found a dead crow, kept it in a sack and frequently inhaled it) but what the fuck was with Euronymous.
