Jesus Christ, you come onto any Mac-related thread you see to post hate about Apple products, don't you?
Mac related? Who mentioned Mac OS X?
iOS =/= OS X
My concern was directed at iPad, and WHEN did I express hated of Apple in general? I happen to love my iPod Touch and if there is any company that I broadly hate then it is Microsoft (even though I use Vista and have a 360 (that I rarely use), that's just because it is the status quo for PC gaming)
I think it is YOU who is the prejudiced one, unable to take any criticism of iPad without interpreting it as an attack on Apple.
You've posted the same comment twice in this very thread.
We get it, you don't like Apple. And yes, that is your opinion. Here's a far out idea for you: some people aren't stupid people who don't know any better, they just like Apple products and can get whatever functionality they need from them.
That is the appeal.
Shouting insults (And yes, bringing up negative qualities of something does count as an insult) about something all the time is just really, really annoying. (And typically irrelivent to the topic, constituting an act of thread derailment)
So yeah, cut it out, you're doing nothing but messing up a thread.
IMHO, of course. Because tagging "IMHO" onto the end of a blatantly negative rant makes everything so friendly and courteous.
This thread is about the iPad and games on it.
If you think I cannot talk about ANY negative aspects of it without it being considered "insulting" or "thread-derailing", then you can Think Again. All apple products are not sacred cows beyond criticism.
I have brought up the VERY FAIR point that straight-ports from PC games will not work well for iPad. The iPad is a great platform and is very powerful but it is used in such a different way that games for it really REALLY do need to be built from the ground up. I don't think a game like Minecraft is suitable for iPad.
It is WHEN you use the iPad to run the SAME games/programs as netbooks/laptops that the iPad's value
rice issue becomes more stark.
iPad is worth it's money when its form factor is exploited in restrictive environments (bed, couch, train seat) with applications that have very elementary user interaction such as note taking, web browsing, movie watching, simple 2D games, etc. Certain 3D games work but only built from the ground up with VERY simplified controls and gameplay.
