You've demonstrated before that you only remember what's convenient for you, so I'm not surprised.
His reading comprehension and memory are all over the place. Just ignore it and move on.

In my last post I said Demon's Souls isn't technically demanding but punishing and he goes off on a rant explaining where the game isn't technically demanding after stating that my assertion was wrong.

The simplest analogy I can put to the gameplay/difficulty situation is this:

Souls Fan - Man I sure do love this chocolate.
Others - You should make it vanilla, more people like that.
Souls Fan - But I came here to get chocolate...

It really is that goddamned simple. Really, for such a large group of people who typically complain about the "We want to broaden our audience" statements, they sure are quick to turn and say "You should do something to broaden your audience."

It's more so that I bought and played Dark Souls to get some chocolate and I got nothing but vanilla. I got a simple game disguising itself as hard instead of a complex and hard game. I wanted a legitimately hard game (all I heard was how hard the games were) and I got an easy game instead. The Souls games are perhaps the most overrated games ever.

My way out of my league what?
There's no point in continuing this. When you can express a well thought-out argument on this matter, I'll be here.
I guess Jim Sterling doesn't have well thought-out arguments either.

A respec option? For what, stats? Not needed. There's weapons and upgrade paths tailored to every possible build, and if you screwed up somewhere you can always farm for like 20 minutes and you're fine. Just don't kill the blacksmiths, heh.

Because farming for 20 minutes is more fun than taking a minute to respec and playing the game normally for those other 19 minutes. You really hate letting other people play how they want don't you?

It's a good strategy, yes. Also what I did during my first playthrough. Still had trouble with it. 2-3 monsters on you at the same time most of the time means you have to retreat and outmaneuver them or just die and start again.
How could you have trouble with pulling enemies? You see the enemies before they see you.

1. Jim Sterling isn't always right.
2. You are not Jim Sterling.
Jim Sterling always has to be right to have well thought-out arguments? Easy mode in any game is just an option that does not harm any game whatsoever, and the logic for that is so simple:

1) A game has an easy mode.
2) You do not have to play on easy.
3) Thus, you simply just don't play on easy if you don't want an easy mode. Easy mode has no detrimental effect on your game experience. And, for those that want an easy mode, it has a positive effect on their game experience. It's win-win.

I don't think I've ever disagreed with any of his Jimquisitions. Even his newest Jimquisition is spot-on, the Wii U is the best current gen console right now. I wanna play Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 (and I don't think he even mentioned those 2 games either) more than any game on PS4 or Xbone. Platinum Games is perhaps the best developer.

Why do I have to be Jim Sterling to utilize one of his well thought-out arguments?

sometimes you're just reckless
Which is your own damn fault.

Oh, I just started yet another game that is harder than Dark Souls, and that game is Catherine.
