I saw this coming after all those awkward stunts McCain has been pulling in his campaign. He just kept going downhill after his VP choice.

I actually used to respect him until he started to play by the Republican playbook.

Obama needs to win this, otherwise I'll probably need to start considering moving to another country.

This, combined with the poor choice of Sarah Palin as running mate to get votes, is why I broke with my traditional moderate conservative leanings and voted Democratic for the first time since Bill Clinton.

McCain's views, of which he frequently battled his own party over, reflected many of my own - unfortunately, having to gain the support of the party meant party lines needed to be towed. If the Republicans lose, they may very well have to examine where they stand on the issues, as Bush has destroyed much of the credibility of the party.

You and your irony.
Why is that ironic? I wont live under Republicans in the White House for another 8 years either. And I am also scared shitless that if McCain does win and dies we will have that nut job Palin as the Pres. Now that is SCARY.

I don't need the draft.
You do remember that the draft was mostly conceived by the Democratic party?

I'm not saying that there haven't been a fair number of Republican supporters for it, but it has almost always been the Democratic majority in Congress that have proposed the draft in the first place, as well as its extensions, and a Democratic president who's signed those bills into law.

EDIT: yes, what the above poster said about the draft.

Obama just won Ohio.

It's over.
He's got 195 now. Given that there's really no chance he won't win California, that's another 55 points for a total of 250. He only needs 20 more, which is just 2 or 3 more states. Hard to see how he could lose at this point, unless the Republicans are cheating again.

New Mexico's doing something odd on [a href=http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25362729?ocid=d08ElectionNightMSNGlobal]that site[/a], though. Why does it say Obama's winning when McCain clearly has way more votes so far?
