Recently, I downloaded the Killzone 3 Beta onto my PS3. I wasn't that interested in the game, i was simply bored and wanted to try out a multiplayer on my new ps3. and the game is awesome, to the point where I'm considering getting the game when it comes out. Before, i probably never wold have got the game, because a)I've had little interest in the game, b)I had heard very little about the game, and c)I have been sorta avoiding online multiplayer games for the ps3, because i figured my internet wouldn't be good enough, since its so damn slow (.5mbs download, and .1mbs upload... damn i hate the country). This is what more games need to do, release more demos and betas of games to get people interested!

They stopped doing demos and betas for a while. The rise of DD over consoles and PCs make releasing demos (traditionally picked up via magazines or as special extras on retail games) a lot more effective, and the clamour for 'try before you buy' is something worth listening to.

A game with a released demo, and one that I enjoy, is more likely to have me buy it than a game I expect I will enjoy but I have no hands-on with.
