This is my first review so constructive criticism is much appreciated.
Nowhere Boy is a Beatles biopic specifically revolving around John Lennon's teenage years where he reunites with his mother and meets Paul McCartney and George Harrison. I came to this film as a Beatles fan expecting just a nice little tribute, nothing special. Halfway through I got more than I bargained for.
Plot:
It feels genuinely true to the real story of John Lennon with it's own touch to it. It does the job well and is easy to follow
4/5
Cast:
At looks, the characters barely resembles their real life counterparts. When I look at Thomas Sangster (The actor who plays Paul McCartney ) any thought of Paul McCartney escapes me. What they lack in looks is made up by their heart in soul to the characters. It's obvious when they sought out casting for the movie they looked for something more than looks and it shows. I couldn't ask for more in a Beatles movie.
4.5/5
Acting:
The acting in this movie is really well done. Aaron Johnson steals the show as John Lennon because he makes it as though your actually watching John Lennon on screen. The drama between the characters is believable and you can feel a connection between them. One of the beginning scenes moved me damn near tears with only a few moments with the characters interacting, and I don't cry often in movies. Anne Marie Duff is excellent as Julian Lennon (John Lennon's mother)and not enough can be said for Kristin Scott Thomas for her role as Aunt Mimi (John Lennon's guardian and well aunt). The supporting cast leaves a bit to be desired but E for effort. The songs are also a treat, good covers to say the least.
4.2/5
George being introduced
Care and setting:
The attention to detail is remarkable. Having some trivial knowledge on the Beatles of my own, the movie is pretty accurate. There was a scene where John calls Paul "Paul McCharmly", this was a small fact mentioned in an interview with the Beatles and it shows authenticity in the movie. It feels like the 50s and the clothing and society is well represented. Obviously classic rock and roll is influenced in the settings.
5/5
Verdict:
It's a good movie and all Beatles fans should check it out. Non beatles fans might be left out in the dust in the more obscure references but it's worth a shot. It's fresh and the best film on the Beatles I've seen yet.
4/5

Hi-oh, Taxman, welcome to the oppressive world of User Reviews!

This is a valiant first effort. However, if I may, I'd just like to offer some of my own constructive criticism. I feel as though perhaps more detail could have been put into the points you make. How does the plot add its own touch, how does it stand out? What is the plot? How was a connection between the actors made? How does the supporting cast leave a bit to be desired? Don't be afraid to write stream-of-consciousness on a point and then come back later with some editing shearers and touch it up, I find that helps immensely when trying to develop a point.

I hope I haven't discouraged you at all, like I say this was a commendable first go. Maybe a little bit more care regarding mistakes and it would've been golden.

Oh, and there's no need to spoilerfy screenshots in reviews. Nobody ventures to the User Reviews anyway, so there's no worry for bandwith.

And if you ever want writing help, I'm a message away.

Thanks for the tips and the warm welcome! It'll help me big time.
Also if you haven't noticed I was a biased because I really liked the movie but next time I'll pick a movie I didn't like as much so it'd be easier to balance out the pros and cons. Just a question though, based on the review will you check out the movie?
