Nudity. How do you feel about it

I, like most others have the natural uneasiness when I'm nude around others. Of course nudity on anyone that's not me is not a problem at all.

If someone else is naked and I'm not attracted to them, I try to just not think about it, really.

As for being naked myself, it feels liberating and great(not when it's cold, though)

Seriously, I am 180cm, weigh 67kg, and am quite athletic. I'm not one of those assholes who jogs topless, but I am hardly ashamed of how I look.

I've slept naked for years, so I tend to wander a bit in the mornings before I have a shower, it's quite freeing really. I'm not saying I would wander the streets in the buff but in your own home, why the hell not?

As the Subject line states its about nudity but more specifically about you. Im curious as to how most Escapists feel and what they do when inevitably the peel away all those layers and find themselves in their "birthday suits"?

For me Personally Im some what horrified and by the sight of my self when Im unclothed and I quite hate the way I look in that state and as such when I need to wash up and I do my best to avoid standing in front of a mirror

See here in America that's how they condition you to be ashamed of the human body and consider it to be taboo. This only encourages deprivation of the soul. The entire sex industry is based off those principals to drive their success.

Thats the thing though...Im not always ashamed of or disgusted by the sight of myself naked I just more often than not dislike my average skinny build and the sight of my male anatomy hanging out

at the risk of sounding to Freudian it's all your mothers fault (that was a joke Freud was an idiot)

seriously though it's all about self confidence, a lot of people feel this way and it really is a case of becoming comfortable with who you are, that's not to say you can't change the things you don't like about yourself, but at the end of the day you need to be happy in your own skin before you can start really finding happiness in the world around you.

(I get the feeling that came out more cliche than I would have liked but I stand by it)

As I type this, I am sitting here my top off and my boxers on. It sounds weirder than it actually is, by the way. I'm about to get in the shower.

Anyway, I'm alright with my figure. I'm not very muscular, however. Never have been, besides from my ridiculously defined calf muscles. People must think that I'm a freaking long distance runner.

I was fine seeing myself nude until I started to lose my hourglass figure. I have since regained it.

I was fine with myself naked, even wandering around the house naked if it was just me and the misses; until I watched porn. Now I just swan around in my trunks. Which I suppose is good on one hand, by my self esteem hasn't been the same since.

I don't find myself a particularly attractive sight when naked. I think censorship of nudity in general is a bit over-zealous, but I'm not really bothered either way.

When it comes to being naked in front of other people, I think that it's important to be in front of someone who you want to remember for the rest of your life, for better or worse.

Well that's what I think anyway, although this may be due to my recent transformation to romantic-type sayings.

It's a terrible thing people have such a distorted image of what their bodies look and should look like. Even more terrifying is the fact that many deny to be the physical person they are, like OP, or have in other ways stranded from basic human things. Humans are animals, y'know.

I don't mind being naked by myself at all, or when being naked with friends/relatives of the same sex[footnote]cultural things do vary, you know.[/footnote], when saunaing and/or swimming and that kind of thing. It's perfectly natural.
