It does perplex me somewhat that you can still get "nut shots" on the female avatars, but it's just for balance issues I suppose.

Wouldn't getting shot in the vagina hurt just as bad as getting shot in the nuts?

Considering how my wife howled when I accidentally kneed her in the crotch one day, I'd say getting hit in the girl parts would hurt a woman pretty badly.

On-topic, I'd have sworn that I saw someone get nutshotted in Goldeneye 007, but it's been a long time since I've even seen, much less played that game.

Yeah, it did in Goldeneye 007, that was the first game I saw a nutshot in, infact.

And yeah, I dont understand why ..._> "Baby Shoot" wouldnt hurt, but in shows I've seen they always say "There's nothing there to hit!" But it isnt exactly like a woman's crotch is like dragon scale... Indestructable.... Okay, I kinda went off on a tangent here, so Im just going to end this post now before I say anything even more stupid...

It works in MGS3. Aiming at the genitals makes soldiers nervous during hold-ups. The soldier you shoot in the nuts comes back in the Sorrow's river, holding his junk and complaining "I'm useless now".

There was a CrotchShot mutator for UT99 that made a shot to the pelvic region with a sniper or the enforcer a 1-hit kill. It had some amusing death messages as well.

Fallout 1 and 2, the groin shot is part of the aimed shot. (removed by Bethesda in Fallout 3 for some unknown reason)

maybe the humans lost there groins due to genetic mutation

Not that involves a gun, but that move Kilik does in the Soul Calibur games where he stabs at the opponents feet with his staff, they shuffle their legs wider to avoid the blows only to get dinged in the sack by him whacking them straight between their spayed legs. Ouch! Makes me wince every time.

Oddly Fable 2 had a nut shot mechanic, in precision aiming you could aim for the head, the weapon, nuts or limbs and each with their own animation..... why do i remember such useless crap?

I've seen ads for some online shooter specifically touting its "nut-shooting" as a prime characteristic of its gameplay...

It's for Combat Arms. I played that for a while. It's actually a rather good FPS but the newest feature is the nut shots so of course they advertise it everywhere. When you actually play the game nut shots don't happen very often, and usually if they do it's not on purpose.
